What shines out about the Basilica Hotel is the fantastic customer service of all the staff - particularly 'Maria' who I bombarded with emails before we even went ! Maria arranged us a shuttle taxi there and back . The handsome taxi driver met us outside arrivals with a huge board and was very polite on both in and out... More

Centrally located and a walking distance to the Red Square, this hostel like 'hotel' is a great option and value for money. On my previous visit to Moscow, I had stayed in a hostel sharing a room with 6 others for the same price. So, even though it may seem expensive it is relatively cheap for Moscow. Great wifi, quiet... Location Basilica Hostel and Hotel is located approx 15-20min walk from the closest metro station. It is located in an odd place and isn't close to any of the main tourist attractions. We originally chose this hotel because it was claimed to be close to Red Square however in reality it is about 30-40min walk. Facilities Free WiFi and bag... More

The Basilica Hotel is a great value. It is centrally located, clean and inexpensive. The hotel staff was very friendly and arranged both an airport pick-up and drop-off for us. You should consider this as taxis will charge you whatever they want. You should also plan on a lengthy trip from the airport. We came from the airport at 2:00... More

Stayed in the hotel part with a few friends for three nights.Easy enough to find near the main river and a blue church with golden bell tops next door to it, so if you look for the church you will find it.The first part of the building is the hostel and the other building behind it is the hotel part.The... Stayed here for 5 nights in February with my girlfriend. Finding the hotel is a little difficult if you come out of the wrong subway exit and is best to try and ask a metro staff member where the hotel is if possible. Check in is easy and staff speak good English. The hotel is located at the back of... More

I stayed 1 night before heading off to the trans-Siberia train. Located in a quiet street 15mins away from Kitay Gorod metro. I booked a double room to myself, it has plenty of room but is basic, as are the showers which are shared. The plus point was that it wa very warm inside to battle off the cold and... More

Moscow is an expensive city, so we settled for a Hostel/Hotel at US$80 a night. We were expecting a Hotel room but due to a mix up with Expedia we ended up with a private room shared bath in the Hostel, for US$10 more we could have had a hotel room with private bath. Our room was OK, spacious with... More

The hotel is in a central location about a 10min walk from Kitay Gorod Metro station and is about a 25min walk from Red Square. Whilst the hotel is close to the metro, make sure you have a map with the street names in Cyrillic as emerging from the metro station can be a little disorientating. The hotel is located... More
