Arkvarel is located on a quiet pedestrian mall within a 10 minute walk to the Kremlin walls, 5 minutes to the Bolshoi Ballet and right in the heat of the shopping and restaurant area-hard to pick a better location. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful in recommending great restaurants where the locals eat/ high end eateries for a special... More

Pro: 1. Great location on pedestrian streets and 7-10 mins walk to Kremlin. 2. Great service, particularly by Victor (the receptionist) 3. Good size and clean room with good prices Con: 1. The bed is on a soft side and doesn't provide good support. Victor was purely the reason I rate this property a four star. Otherwise, it is 3... More

This hotel is clean and well located, quite and near walking street not far from the Kreml. The staff was very nice and helpfully. Very good and fast WiFi. The breakfast is good and staff was really nice. Nearest metro station is Ohotny Rjad.

My girlfriend and I were coming to Moscow and we were a bit unfamiliar with the city. We decided to stay here based on a recommendation from one of her friends. It turned out to be an excellent choice! The woman at the reception was very pleasant and helped us to get to know the area around the hotel and... More

I think the other reviews here are pretty accurate, the Akvarel is well located in a discrete courtyard off a hugh end, pedestrian shopping street. Look for the sign out on the main street pointing to the alley which the hotel is situated on, you could miss it! Reception is fine, I had a pleasant middle aged lady book me... More

Shame for a hotel located in such a perfect place to be so poor. Poor in ressources, not welcoming crew at the desk. Carpet in the room not clean and shower linking....Excepting the location, I will not come back there.

I've had varying accommodation experiences on trips to Russia but this place I would absolutely revisit. Good good room with very comfy bed, staff friendly (a real bonus). And the wi-fi worked, another bonus! i had a little spare time and found it easy to get around; good location for the price.

The hotel is in a courtyard just off a pedestrianised high-end shopping street (think Bond Street if you know London), walking distance from Red Square and other city centre attractions. The rooms are spacious if a bit dull, the bed was comfortable. Although it is right next to a night club I didn't hear any noise. Breakfast was fairly limited... More

Staying in Tverskaya

Neighborhood Profile
Tverskaya
Tverskaya can’t be discovered with just a first glance, the neighborhood is shaped around a long street populated with well-known shops and brands. But it’s more than shopping that makes this place interesting. Take a few steps into the streets running parallel to the main artery to discover the charm just behind the mighty Stalinist style architecture. Comfy European pedestrian streets Bolshaya Dmitrovka or Stoleshnikov lane are a great place to start. Locals can be found here working, eating, shopping, resting and going to the Bolshoi Theatre in the evening.
