My girlfriend and I were coming to Moscow and we were a bit unfamiliar with the city. We decided to stay here based on a recommendation from one of her friends. It turned out to be an excellent choice! The woman at the reception was very pleasant and helped us to get to know the area around the hotel and... More

I think the other reviews here are pretty accurate, the Akvarel is well located in a discrete courtyard off a hugh end, pedestrian shopping street. Look for the sign out on the main street pointing to the alley which the hotel is situated on, you could miss it! Reception is fine, I had a pleasant middle aged lady book me... More

Shame for a hotel located in such a perfect place to be so poor. Poor in ressources, not welcoming crew at the desk. Carpet in the room not clean and shower linking....Excepting the location, I will not come back there.

I've had varying accommodation experiences on trips to Russia but this place I would absolutely revisit. Good good room with very comfy bed, staff friendly (a real bonus). And the wi-fi worked, another bonus! i had a little spare time and found it easy to get around; good location for the price.

This hotel is clean and well located, The staff was very nice and never caused a moment of problems. If you want easy access to all the nice tourist spots but be just about a 10 minute walk from them, this is the the place for you. The breakfast staff was really nice.

The hotel is in a courtyard just off a pedestrianised high-end shopping street (think Bond Street if you know London), walking distance from Red Square and other city centre attractions. The rooms are spacious if a bit dull, the bed was comfortable. Although it is right next to a night club I didn't hear any noise. Breakfast was fairly limited... More

I stay in this hotel for business for 3 nights. this is a small hotel in a quite small side street in the center of Moscow, just few minutes walk from the red square. Room was clean and big. Service is good considering this is Russia. Most of the staff speak English or some English, but they are not very... More

We booked a small group into the Akvarel for an event on Red Square. I have to agree with the prior comment about the service being friendly by Russian standards. Our room was small, but tasteful, the internet service worked and the whole place did not reek of cigarette smoke. The location is very good if you want to be... More

The Akvarel is all about location, based in the Stoleshnikov luxury shopping arcade and next to top-end Denis Simchaev night-club (with a wonderful terrace, incl smoking area). We were booked into this B&B by a client company and did not regret it. The Akvarel is not cheap, considered it is not a real hotel, with prices starting at € 200.... More
