Unless of course you are a sociology student... We had to bang on doors to be let in through nondescript door into dusty worksite (needing the help of the next door privet hostel to phone them to wake them up after 8am.) The place is full of strange middle aged Russian men and no-one speaks English. It doesn't feel like... More

Good location and reasonable price (for Moscow). Also they can provide you with a letter of invitation for Russia, witch you need to enter the country, thru there website. The hostel isn't really a hostel or the atmosphere was not really like an hostel. The (other) guests we saw weren't travelers and nobody really spoke to one another. The rooms... More

Good location for the circle line on the metro, with good convenience shops close by. And reasonably priced for Moscow to be fair. But I wouldn't recommend it. For a hostel the atmosphere was terribly unfriendly. A small, dark and dingy place with the kitchen, breakfast table, 4 stools, computer desk and bean bag all crammed into the corridor/reception space.... More

The hostel is quite close to the city center and main attraction(Red Square and Kremlin), indeed very well connected with the beautiful metro @ Kitay -Gorod stop, which is also a nice aera for spending the night with quite few nice restaurants, bars etc. It's not that easy to find because is located in a very small street sometimes difficult... We stayed there for 3 nights, while in Moscow. It's a nicely located hostel, within a walkable distance from the Red Square and the Kremlin and if you follow exactly the instructions they will give you, you will have no problem finding it. The room was clean with a funny decoration, which included two shoes stuck on the wall, the... More

Moscow is invariably expensive. Even hostels, which are meant for cash-strapped tourists, are pricey. The Trans-Siberian Hostel was actually affordable, but with caveats. The hostel is not too far from the city center, only a 25-minute walk. However, You can easily get lost finding it. It’s on a small corner street and there’s an easy-to-miss sign in front of the... Hostels aren't for me but sadly, being a poor student, they have to be! I was visiting Moscow for a long weekend with friends, we were on a tight budget and after the over night train I was dreading my first proper hostel experience! I think there's a lot of stigma behind hostels (I had herd all kinds of horror... More

First and foremost, this is a casual hostel. it's clean enough, and just off a quit street with a money saving supermarket/deli nearby. I've tried a few other hostels in Moscow and I always come back to TSB as it simply feels the homiest. Some places may be slicker and flashier, but I always feel home here. You are fairly... More

Located 7min walking distance from Kursky railway station, I had no problems finding it after a call with reception. The guy was friendly enough, let me eat breakfast as I arrived very early, but I couldn't check-in immediately so I went out after a shower and came back in the evening with my single room still waiting for me (the... This place was neither good nor bad in my opinion. Yes difficult to find but if you wirte down the directions from the home page then it should present no problem. It is very small and it seems that the family who runs it also live there and with them and the staff plus the two guys who seem to... More
