I have seen many hostels but this was by far the worst one! At least the bed was clean but that's it with the positive stuff! The bathrooms were really, really disgusting and dirty, so dirty you would feel even worse after showering. We lived in another house next door and the stairway hall smelled like pee and smoke and... I stayed at the hostel for 3 nights and it was really pleasant. nice rooms, quite clean and great girls at the reception desk. The location is perfect. Made some friends there *) Can't say anything bad about the place... i guess may be air-conditioning needed)

It was good enough for the 2 nights I spend in Moscow. Start was very bad as there was no transfer at the airport as booked.. Made me take a cab for €100. Excuses at the hostel, their driver forgot.. They gave me RUB 1700 (€35), which is the amount the travel agent paid. Shared my room with 5 Russian... More

I was taken to another building located next door, the dormitory rooms were full of Russians who were obviously working long term in the City. They were loud noisy and ignorant waking me up at 5am! The place was extremely dirty as they didnt care at all! I made two complaints whilst there but got no reply!!

We stayed here for three nights. It was a nice stay. The room was good, IKEA-like. You can easily meet other travellers in the common room, read books and cook your own Russian meals! The shower was oke, but i've seen better. At some point the door of the cabin wouldn't open first, that was a little scary moment ;)... More

As in other reviews I found the rooms not that 'fresh' in sense of clean and comfortable but the basics are there, yet not much else and certainly not safe. The written anouncement near the check-in desk that Moscow Home Hostel is chosen to be the best of the year is at the very least doubtful. We shared two toilets... More

We saw the photographs and the reality is not like that. The rooms and common places are dirty, with very old and used things. The beds were bad and uncomfortable. The smell in the room was awful .The showers and kitchen were usually dirty. The kitchen is small for all the people of the hostel. No space in the fridge... More

Stayed here a while ago now but am going back over some places I've stayed as I plan my next holiday. This was quite a basic hostel, hard to find but pretty well located once you find your way around. The walk into Red Square etc is - as others have said - about 20 mins and fairly pleasant. There's... More

For huge city like Moscow the location of the hostel is great, maybe 20 minutes walk from Red Square, 10 minutes walk from Old Arbat, 10 minutes walk from metro station. Toilets and shower rooms were always clean, rooms are big, bed was very comfortable, only minus is that they don't have private lockers in rooms.

Staying in Khamovniki

Neighborhood Profile
Khamovniki
Khamovniki could be considered a city of its own – here it’s possible to find some of Moscow’s most important cultural institutions such as the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, the Novodevichy Convent and Trubetskikh Estate, great sport locations such as Luzhniki stadium and aqua complex, and long and beautiful Luzhniki embankment. Pick your preferred form of transport to explore the area – bicycle or river cruise during the summer and taxi in winter as many of the great places are situated beyond a short walk.
