We were in winter holiday in Romania passing trough Cluj-Napoca on the way to Sighisoara. We reached the city of Cluj with the help of a young romanian couple who was extremly kind and helpfull. They recomend us the hotel. Planned to stay 1 day but we end up staying 3 days. Nice rooms, well furnished, good location, good service, very nice breakfast, had also lunch... more
Judged by the standards for a local, family-run hotel, the Agape does very well indeed. The location, and the setting around an interior courtyard are the biggest pluses. Breakfast is better than what you would find in many locally run places ... but quite limited by international standards. But the service and friendliness of the staff is very genuine. And... more
The best thing about Agape Hotel in Cluj is the location: 1 min away from Piata Unirii, the center of Cluj, and 2 min from the main monuments (St. Michael's church, opera house etc), 10 min walk to the Botanical Garden (the most beautiful I've seen so far). Breakfast included (lots of choices of food). Large rooms, large bathrooms, clean... more
My second bad experience in a Cluj hotel. The Agape has a great location but the rooms are full of 1970s formica and mine (despite being a suite) had scuffs on the walls and wasn not that well maintained. Interior decor had some eye popping colours - lots of beige with mint coloured vertical blinds. The layout of the hotel... more
I came to the Agape after spending one disappointing night at the Fullton in Cluj. Maybe it was the shocking difference that I got for 15 Euros (basically from 2 star to 4 star), but the Agape was clean, elegant, somptuous in parts (lobbies with leather couches), mirrors everywhere, 5-7 restaurants & bars, from self-service to Hungarian. I got slippers,... more
The Agape is a small hungarian type hotel. New and with everything you need. The Hungarian restaraunt is excellent and the service great. The hotel is half a block from the main square--a bit hard for some taxi drivers to find. Close to all attractions and to a small shopping mall with groceries. We have stayed there twice and have... more
We stayed for three nights in the apartment/suite with our family of five. It was a beautifully simple, "Classic Cluj" style. The entire hotel is a renovated wonder right in the heart of Cluj. We loved the location as we could walk or hop in a taxi and be to our destination of choice anywhere in the city in minutes.... more
I enjoyed my stay at the centrally located Hotel Agape. Situated between St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Cathedral and The Orthodox Cathedral and right off Piatra Unirii. Quiet, elegant old world street. Hotel rooms were renovated in 2005. The historic building was built in 1887. Overall clean, low-key, hotel with good service. English spoken. There is an elevator for guest use.... more
