I recently completed a 30 day tour of Philippines. Vietnam and Cambodia. With over 2 weeks in the Philippines, I chose to extend a 2 day reservation into the entire stay at the Durban Hotel ,Makati (Manila). The Hotel was affordable, comfortable, clean ,well located, and the staff was the best I have ever encountered. It was small enough to... More

I've lived in Manila for about a year now. One of the nerve wracking things about staying here is recommending hotels to friends who want to pass through. Lots of places change management and generally let their standards slip. Of course there are some options that are consistently good, but those places are also consistently expensive. Especially for the Philippines,... More

I stayed here on two separate occasions and enjoyed my stay on both visits. The staff were extremely helpful with accommodating changes in reservations and very helpful with local knowledge. Jewel, one of the front desk staff, was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Hotel Durban is a great value for a simple room with professional staff. Although a little bit close... More

My wife and I were very happy with our hotel experience at the Durban. We had been travelling all over the Phillipines, and we found this boutique style hotel to be one of the best hotels we stayed in. Rooms were clean and nicely furnished, shower was awesome (lots of hot water with good pressure), bed was comfy, and staff... More

Rooms are good but no lift and some rooms have no windows. On arrival go a room with no windows but got another with a small window. Stayed on top floor and the hallway get very hot during the day but no problem in the room. Thin walls so you can get unlucky with your neighbor.

Hotel Durban is the full package and then some! The rooms are clean and beautiful, the staff are caring and attentive, the food...omg. Don't miss the opportunity to eat at the restaurant in the lobby, Farfalla. On top of it all, it is obvious that the managers give extreme attention to detail in all aspects of your experience there. I... More

We travelled to Manila 12 mths ago and stayed at the Hotel Durban - We would never stay there again as we were put in a room i could only call a dungeon , the staff were not in the least helpful or polite = our outlook for Manila was severely dented by this woeful experience

We find this review suspicious. When we reached out to the reviewer directly, by email, we were told, in fact, that he stayed at the hotel over 2 years ago, and not the 12 months he states in his review. Hotel Durabn was a very different place then, as it has undergone several extensive renovations and refurbishments – so much... More

Day 2 I actually thought I wanted a hotel with a few more amenities and decided to check out....however that was a huuuuge mistake....After making arrangements with a hotel down the street (... We stayed beginning sept 2014 just for one night, but we had dinner there. The situation is very good, not far away from the airport (short taxi ride) and in a save area close to Salcedo market, which we very much recommend visiting if you happen to drop in Makati on a Saturday. The hotel staff was always kknd and... More

My recent last stay with Durban Hotel was better than ever. The construction has finally been completed and they have an additional staff member, starts with "K" that knows her job well, with a smile : ) All the staff make the stay quite enjoyable. Well appointed rooms, with fair value will always bring me back to Durban. Wifi could... More
