We have stayed here on multiple occasions. This is a great boutique style hotel, with an attached Italian restaurant. Rooms are quite small and many don't have windows (or do have a window which faces onto another building's wall, etc.). I would recommend for a few nights if you're transiting through Manila. The hotel staff are 5 star - exceptional... More

For the location, the Hotel Durban is great. My room was tiny (single bed) and windowless, but it was clean and sufficient. The service was impeccable and they were quite gracious. Overall I enjoyed this little boutique hotel - it was a great spot from which to spend a day at the Makati Shangri-La pool and health club.

This isn't a perfect place. Few places are. Their food portions are much too small but generallly delicious. But I am not here to review their outdoor patio restaurant. No, I am here to tell fellow travelers that this boutique hotel is truly boutique and for what they charged 1600 pesos I felt almost guilty in not paying double. As... More

This hotel is located right in the heart of Makati. The room are average by most standards but they are clean. The location and proximity to the night life is very close to the action. Staff where friendly and helpful. They have a form of security and If you have an Asian wife who goes to walk out of the... More

I recently completed a 30 day tour of Philippines. Vietnam and Cambodia. With over 2 weeks in the Philippines, I chose to extend a 2 day reservation into the entire stay at the Durban Hotel ,Makati (Manila). The Hotel was affordable, comfortable, clean ,well located, and the staff was the best I have ever encountered. It was small enough to... More

I've lived in Manila for about a year now. One of the nerve wracking things about staying here is recommending hotels to friends who want to pass through. Lots of places change management and generally let their standards slip. Of course there are some options that are consistently good, but those places are also consistently expensive. Especially for the Philippines,... More

I stayed here on two separate occasions and enjoyed my stay on both visits. The staff were extremely helpful with accommodating changes in reservations and very helpful with local knowledge. Jewel, one of the front desk staff, was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Hotel Durban is a great value for a simple room with professional staff. Although a little bit close... More

My wife and I were very happy with our hotel experience at the Durban. We had been travelling all over the Phillipines, and we found this boutique style hotel to be one of the best hotels we stayed in. Rooms were clean and nicely furnished, shower was awesome (lots of hot water with good pressure), bed was comfy, and staff... More

Rooms are good but no lift and some rooms have no windows. On arrival go a room with no windows but got another with a small window. Stayed on top floor and the hallway get very hot during the day but no problem in the room. Thin walls so you can get unlucky with your neighbor.
