This hotel is in a desperate need of a renovation. The rooms are simple, and show of quite old age. The service at this hotel was truly exceptional, attentive enough without being annoying, efficient and thoughtful. Unfortunately the rooms themselves are in desperate need of refurbishment. While the room I stayed in was clean and the housekeeping service was adequate, the decor is dated, fabrics faded and furniture chipped. Excellent service. The staff nearly tripped over themselves to be gracious. Had a club room so had complimentary breakfast and cocktail/snacks in the club lounge. The MO Manila is a fine hotel, as long as you are not paying what you would at the Shangi La or Pennisula. It was probably a lovely place when it opened in 1975 or whenever it opened. Check in was easy and prompt. Going to the room, the carpet on the floor looked stained and dirty, wallpaper peeling and paint chipping off on parts of the walls.
