Submitting this rather late, but I suspect a place like the Peninsula does not change much in a year. We stayed here in March/April 2008, shortly after the hotel had reopened following that unfortunate bit about the coup in the lobby. Hoping to bring customers back, they were offering reduced rates – we paid $200 US per night for a... more

It’s a nice hotel with best location….. Its best quality: Pleasant rooms with basket full fruits, helpful staff members, good food and big restaurant. I would suggest staying in this hotel when you are in Manila. more

I stayed here during April 2008 for 2 weeks - If you're an American, staying here or the Makati Shangri-La are your only two options if you want things to U.S. standards, trust me! I worked in the Philippines as an expatriate for 6-months. The rooms here are all very modern, I even had an LCD TV. All rooms on... more

Perhaps I had been too caught up with the images of their advertising campaign but my stay at The Peninsula was very mediocre. I would select a hotel based on its perceived value or for its reputed service. The Peninsula Manila offered neither. The room was extremely average and completely devoid of personality. Even the complimentary chocolates lacked any character.... more

The Peninsula is an institution that is defined as a luxury hotel experience and there’s no denying it’s a serious class act to follow; unfortunately this does not apply to the Manila Pen. The awe inspiring lobby does not reflect the accommodation offered. Rooms are well appointed and spacious without the "white glove" service that one would expect from this... more

Having had an emotional trip down to the Cebu, I thought of splurging in Manila hence this iconic hotel. Wow...expensive, but well worth it for safety and ultimate service. The minute I got out of the airport van, smiles were everywhere. Check in was smooth, even had the receptionist offering me to take me to the room. Amazing. Mind you... more

Stayed for 2 weeks and found the room (Tropical) nothing special. It was large and the bed was as hard as concrete. Supposed to have amid service twice a day and nightly 'turn down' service, which never happened. We ordered room service, which was very good and after the tray etc was placed outside the room door, it stayed for... more

I have stayed at quite a few metro Manila hotels over the past 20 years but this was the first time at the Peninsula. I would certainly rate it as one of the top hotel hotels in Manila but, as a Peninsula Hotel, it is lacking in a few key areas: namely, service and food quality. Rooms are very nice... more
