I stayed at the Renaissance Makati City in the Philippines on business from 21 Apr - 1 May 09. It was my first visit to this hotel and to the Philippines. This is a very nice Renaissance with excellent customer service. For example, when I inquired about a take-out cup with a lid for the tea I make in the... more

This hotel is in the middle of Makati. There are restaurants, bars, banks, etc etc etc at walking distance. Night life is one of the best! Rooms are very clean and comfy. I dont think its the best in Makati but for the price its a great place to stay.Staff is very attentive to all your needs. The receptionist are very professional.... more

I did some reading here at Trip Advisor and was a little gun shy about staying at this location based upon some of the reviews. After my stay, I can see the "grain of truth" in some of the reviews, but overall, the concerns expressed in some of the more negative reviews don't seem warranted. Is the hotel a "five... more

Located right next to Greenbelt, and only a few minutes walking to Glorietta mall in Makati, this hotel is an excellent location for shopping and convenient when looking for restaurants and bar areas. The service is friendly and professional but lack a certain hospitable feel...maybe it was just me. Still I had no problem with that as I was in... more

Stayed there for a week, and swore never to go there, as the rooms are old and crappy (I've seen better 3*), but the prices are very fancy (more in line of 5*). They even charge for a tooth brush / paste! more

We stayed for 6 nights (March 5-11) and really enjoyed it. The location was ideal. The service was good and everyone seem eager to please. We felt safe with the tight security and everyone was just so helpful with driving directions, taxi service, parking, exchange rates, etc. We're based in the DC area and it was our first trip home... more

I stayed in the property on two separate nights Feb 26 and March 2 2009. The reason for both of the stays was layover between connecting flights to and from Cebu. As my flight from Hong Kong did not arrive until 930 pm I did not want to spend the night in the airport. I used my Marriott rewards and... more

Wonderful staff, good food (from room service), large rooms, lots of high-quality bathroom amenities, and in an excellent location (next to the Green Belt where lots of shopping and restaurants are available). No complaints here! Would definitely recommend this property, plus, the room rates were great! more

For a business traveler headed to the Philippines; Makati is most likely your destination. The Renaissance is an ideal choice for accomodation. It's not as elegant as the Shangri-la down the street, but for your money, it's a better deal. Great food, prompt service, and strong location. It's just beside Greenbelt 3, the mall where all the restaurants and nightlife... more

I stayed here 3 times already, once in March 2007, then again in May 2008 and another time in Sep 2008. I choose this hotel because it is very convenient, specially for tourist. It is a very clean hotel, friendly people and the room is very nice. Its a little old style, may need a renovation and keep up to... more
