At first I had second thoughts in staying at this hotel. I knew for the fact that InterCon was an old building, so I was afraid that it had a weak structure and the inside would look vapid. Although I did consider staying there, so when I got in I was surprised to see how modern it was. What I... More

We spent one night on our way to the Viscayas islands, and I was really disappointed. Rooms are smelly and small, very little amenities. The swimming pool was supposed to close at 8:00 pm but when my kids arrived at 7:45 the safe guard told them not to go. Besides, the pick up service to/from the aiport is outrageously expensive.... This place really needs to be re-furbished. Rooms are adequate but smallish. Food is ok - but isn't going to win any prizes. Service is good. but not stand-out. There's just nothing that really distinguishes this hotel and makes you want to come back.. Best element is the location adjacent to the Glorietta mall complex and within 10 minutes walking... More

The Intercontinental is an older building, at a guess late 60s or early 70s. If these walls could talk, you can imagine they'd have some interting stories to tell of the Marcos regime, the Aquinos and so on. Alas, the walls are mute, but the entire place does issue a silent scream, desperately pleading for some investment and a makeover.... More

I stayed at this hotel for three nights while in Manila on business. I think the hotel was fine - the room was up to standards - everything worked and it was comfortable. The staff did everything right and did it quickly, nothing was missed. I generally find that Intercontinental hit all the targets (in terms of what I look... More

Spent a long weekend with some friends from Singapore and decided on the Intercontinental. As we had to play a soccer tournament near the airport we decided on a location not too far away. I have stayed at every hotel in this area although have not evaluated all of them here. This hotel provided an excellent respite from the firecracker smoke and noise from the new year's festivities. We could not hear nor smell anything outside as the rooms were tightly sealed. The centralized air-conditioning system acted as an excellent filter. Rooms are big enough, location is beside the mall, staff was busy but still friendly. Security was top notch. Just... More

Platinum-priority club 12 nights usually stay at the Crowne Plaza or Holiday Inn. We had meetings in Makati and Cuneta Astordome which are much closer to this hotel. Manila traffic is horrendous so saving $25 is not worth the added two hours in traffic-every day. This is a good location in Makati. Stayed here two weeks in 2007 (newly refurbished)... More
