A friend and I spent a night in Trujillo, in the Munay Wasi. It was a good but very quiet night! (Which can be a very good thing I suppose.) The owner was incredibly friendly and kind and gave us lots of information about what to do and how to do it. She even called around in Huanchaco (a town... More

We stayed in a private double at Residencial Munay Wasi for 3 nights. The location was OK, about 10 minutes from the Plaza, the neighbourhood seemed safe, but the food options were a bit limited in the immediate vicinity. Our room was pretty large, with a useful dressing table and an OK bed, but the curtains were so thin as... More

Me and my friends stayed in MunayWasi last january. The price is a little bit high (U$13.75), but it's worth it. Run by family, Carmela is an adorable woman, she teach us how to make Pisco Sour from scratch, and her daughter is lovely too. The breakfast is very good, the beds are confortable, and the bathrooms even though they... More

The lady of the hostel was lovely, if a little chatty. She gave many helpful suggestions about the city and its attractions. The breakfast was very nice (bread, butter, jam, egg, home made juice) and I was allowed to use the kitchen, even though I was not staying in one of the private rooms. Due to the fact that it... We stayed here for two nights. Sent an email in advance to announce we would probably arrive early. The owner sent us an email back telling us that if we arrived before 6.30 we would have to pay half a night. Most buses arrive early but we waited at the bus terminal. The owner, an older lady, welcomed us warmly,... More

Double bed, large enough room, huge chest of drawers and closet, all empty. Cold! Had to ask for an extra blanket, as there is nothing but a bedspread over the sheet. Walls badly need painting. The room smells strongly – of room freshener, perhaps. TV is a relatively large Samsung – just fine cable reception. No WiFi reception in the... More

Clean hostel with a really good ratio of rooms to bathrooms. We rarely had to wait to use the bathroom. The hostess was really nice and eager to help. There's a computer with basic Internet access to check your email as well as wi-fi throughout the hotel. Decently fast for a hostel in Peru. Breakfast wasn't very good, but for... More

I just stayed seven nights at Residencial Munay Wasi (right around the corner from my favorite Trujillo restaurant, El Sol Vegetarian) and I was thoroughly pleased with the facilities, service and ambience of Munay Wasi. When you step into Munay Wasi, you step into Carmela's home and she is one of the most hospitable an helpful of innkeepers I have... More
