I have just walked out of the Italia and crossed the road to the Imperial. I had hoped to stay at the Italia but my online booking was not answered, so I was pleased to find a room available The dealbreaker was that the wi fi was not working and I needed to use it. Additionally I had to change... More

This hotel is ok..... It's in a good location in Puno, not far to walk to some good restaurants. We found it to be clean and pleasant, but it is looking quite tired now, but great if you love that retro vibe! Showers take time to get hot, but it's Puno, so not sure anywhere else would have been better.... More

I spent four weeks in Puno on a Fulbright in January; this is about 25 days longer than most visitors stay. The university arranged my lodging and had me stay in the Hotel Italia. I found the hotel to be very comfortable and conveniently located in the city center. The owners are a delightful family--a mother, two daughters and two... More

I stayed here while on a tour of Lake Titicaca. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Located near the lake. Breakfast only small selection but nice. Coca and green teas available 24/7. No lifts but staff will take cases to upper floors.

Stayed for 2 nights. Both times the room faced the street, with the bathroom window facing the interior. Opening both meant that there was a nice cross-breeze during the day. At night, there was a small heater provided in the room. No problems with the bathroom or hot water. Breakfast was good -- you can ask the staff for a... More

I would never stay here again. I went on a tour that stayed at this hotel, and my two night stay was not fun. The best parts about this hotel are the free wifi, free tea, and hot showers. Conversely, I wore a hat and mittens to bed. Other people in my group seemed to have gotten heaters in their... More

I have stayed at the Hotel Italia for over twenty years now, that is to say every time I go to Puno. I have also been taking Tour groups there for many years. The hotel is very centrally located, just round the corner from the market and the pedestrian zones. The owners are very friendly and go out of their... More

Stayed here for two nights, the hotel is in old building but it seems more retro than dated. It can be quite cold but the heaters in the room worked brilliantly. Yes there is some noise from the playground nearby but that only on for so long. Breakfast was included but pretty limited and there is wifi with different codes... More

I stayed at this hotel for two days. It was part of my tour but based on the average price of $40 shown I would say it is good value. The rooms were decent but needed to be updated. The bed was not very comfortable. The wifi was horrible but the lobby had a computer for guest use. The breakfast... More

Other reviewers have pointed out some of the negative points of this place: old property, cold, breakfast could be better (better-quality bread would make an enormous difference here), unreliable internet connection, noise from adjoining rec center, a rather dark and lugubrious aspect. I can add another: a slight but persistent odor of mold in the rooms (because of the absence... More
