This hotel was by far the best of the four we stayed at while in Peru. The rooms have huge windows allowing unobstructed views of the lake. If your room is on one side of the hotel you get clear views of the sunrise, and on the other side you get the sunset. Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. We... More

The rooms are not large and really lack horizontal surfaces to write or place objects. There was no good space to put our luggage. But the service was truly lacking. We ate in the dining room our first night. We got there just as it opened. There were probably 10 staff people in view, but it took 15 mins to... More

The large windows view on the lake and the sunrise is priceless! Amazing memories with a very relaxing stay at 3800 meters above the sea! The staff, the room amenities, the restaurant, the overall environment, made our experience simply surreal!

This hotel is just adequate. On the plus side, the service from staff was top-notch, and the restaurant (breakfast and dinner) served great food. The hotel itself, however, needs an update. Rooms were dated. And loud! Be prepared to hear everything in hallway and every conversation/bodily function of those around, above or below you. Some soundproofing is surely in order...... More

Located on an island overlooking the lake. Room quality is not five star but the rest of the hotel is. Very efficient service during check-in and at the restaurant. The food was excellent. The sunrise is something you should not miss. Internet was very slow which I believe they should improve.

Just spent two nights in the Libertador and the standard was very good. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet with a great view of the sunrise over the lake (if you are awake early enough, 5 am). Being away from Puno was a bonus and the hotel had a nice walk round the island of about one and a... More

We stayed here on our last leg of Peru adventures. And while Puno doesn't have much to offer (and is about 10-20 years from being tourist friendly), this hotel was very nice. The rooms are far from 5 stars (as mentioned in other posts, they need some updating - sounds insulation is poor, some peeling paint in the bathroom, etc.).... More

I am not a professional reviewer, and this is just my opinion. We spent two nights in Puno, actually outside the city, which is a blessing because Puno is not a very attractive city to say the least. Located on its own island, the hotel offers a high level of safety and quiet, in addition to fabulous views of Lake... More

Overrated, looking tired, neglected common areas, some good dishes in restaurant but generally much too salty, views are nice but location only convenient for lake Titicaca tours, perfunctory service, just ok.

Essentially this is a newish hotel built on an island within walking distance (30 minutes plus) of downtown Puno. On Google Earth, it unfortunately appears as a gigantic bird dropping on this island. In reality, it is a fabulous hotel with top class five-star facilities and 3-4 star prices. Any hotel with an island to itself is likely to be... More
