We stayed in the Eco Lodge in Puerto Maldonado for five nights and spent one night in the lodge up the Tambopata River. The Eco Lodge in town was very comfortable. Our room had air conditioning and a hot water shower which worked well. You will need the air conditioning at night. The breakfast is cooked to order and was... More

I have never written a review for a hotel before, but after my stay at the Wasai Ecolodge, I felt compelled to. After a late flight, we were picked up and greeted with a complimentary cocktail and a very friendly staff. The hotel room was adequate. The food was excellent and abundant. There is a sloth that lives in the... More

It was a 2 hour car ride followed by a 2 hour boat ride to get to our hotel in the Amazon. It was the farthest hotel on the river (might be a few more out there). It was so remote that we got 3 hours of electricity a night and no hot water. Not my ideal place but it... More

We arrived late at PM and the staff was friendly and smiling. The rooms are a bit dissapointing, breakfast is basic but you can't help thinking of the monkeys around you at night, the beautiful scenery and the incredible excursion to Tambopata. Would return at Wasai for sure!

Very friendly staff and very helpfull. Excellent location, but if you're expecting a nice pool with a cocktail bar, you will get dissapointed. The swimming pool area is under reconstruction, which causes some extra noise.

The Wasai Eco Lodge in Puerto Maldonado is used as starting and ending point for the Wasai excursions to the Wasai lodge inside the Tambopata jungle reserve. I think you can also book it separately just as a hotel in town. It is very well located in town, on the banks of the Rio Madre de Dios, and within steps... More

We stayed here for about a total of a week over s 2 month period. The rooms are nice and overlook the river. It is near the bridge but we got very little noise. The hotel has quite a few 'wild' animals in its grounds and we saw three toed sloth, night monkeys and quite a few species of birds.... More

We arrived and had no one to pick us up from the airport. A friendly Tuk Tuk driver called on our behalf and took us to Wasai for 10 pesos. On arrival our booking hadn't been received. We were given a frosty reception by one of the staff members (an older women) and said we could have a basic room,... More

Wasai was our last stop on our Peru trip and it was wonderful. We got the matrimonial suite and for the money thought it was a great value. The lodge itself is a wonderful place filled with tropical plants, a nice change of scenery from Puerto Maldonado itself. The room was very clean, the staff were helpful and pleasant, the... More

We stayed at the Wasai Maldonado Eco Lodge after spending 2 nights in the jungle at the Tambopata lodge. We were supposed to go to Sandoval Lake, our legs wereburnt from the unexpected sun during the rainy season. (bring sun block no matter what time of year you go). We ended up just staying at the lodge and hanging out,... More
