Great view of the river and very relaxing spot by the pool, especially on a typical humid day in the Amazon. The staff were all very helpful and attentive. It's very close to the Plaza and I always felt safe walking back at night. I just wish the cleaners didn't start so early, or they had "do not disturb" signs... More

Scenic, rustic bungalow-type lodging right on the Rio Madre de Dios. The entire end of the our room which faced the river and jungle-type trees was screened window, giving us the feeling of sleeping outdoors - but without the mosquitoes! Monkeys ran from the roof of our room into the trees, and various jungle critters "sang" to us all night.... More

I was so happily surprised to find a peaceful, beautiful and well implemented lodge in the middle of the city, a damaged and chaotic city. I got a wonderful room (usually for couples) and though I only spent one night there I enjoyed tremendously. I would by no doubt come back with my special +1 to enjoy the magic of... More

Did the 4D/3N Road adventure tour. The tour was brilliant, catching glimpses of truly exotic animals (narrowly missing a jaguar). The guides were excellent, taking us to the best spots, really friendly and fun and even organised for us to repeat a trip to the Macaw clay lick when the weather improved. The organisation was excellent again, providing us with... More

Cool eco lodge in a great location in town right next to the river. Nice comfortable, river-view rooms with great meals and a friendly staff. We were pleasantly surprised to find meals included in the price we paid and they were good, making the stay a really good value. Free wifi with a strong signal and spacious rooms, too. The... More

We stayed here in April since we didn't have enough time to stay at their jungle lodge. The facility is nice, and very authentic. I liked the view of the Madre de Dios river right out of our balcony. We seemed to be about the only guests there at the time, with the exception of one other couple we saw,... More

We stayed in the Eco Lodge in Puerto Maldonado for five nights and spent one night in the lodge up the Tambopata River. The Eco Lodge in town was very comfortable. Our room had air conditioning and a hot water shower which worked well. You will need the air conditioning at night. The breakfast is cooked to order and was... More

I have never written a review for a hotel before, but after my stay at the Wasai Ecolodge, I felt compelled to. After a late flight, we were picked up and greeted with a complimentary cocktail and a very friendly staff. The hotel room was adequate. The food was excellent and abundant. There is a sloth that lives in the... More

It was a 2 hour car ride followed by a 2 hour boat ride to get to our hotel in the Amazon. It was the farthest hotel on the river (might be a few more out there). It was so remote that we got 3 hours of electricity a night and no hot water. Not my ideal place but it... More

We arrived late at PM and the staff was friendly and smiling. The rooms are a bit dissapointing, breakfast is basic but you can't help thinking of the monkeys around you at night, the beautiful scenery and the incredible excursion to Tambopata. Would return at Wasai for sure!
