My husband and I traveled with 2 other adults from California (US) late November and stayed at the EcoAmazonia Lodge in the Amazon for 2 nights through a Living Social 12 day Peru/Amazon deal through Kaypi Tours. Kaypi selected this lodge. Pros -All meals were provided; Food was very good, fresh, tasted home cooked, and was filling -Excursions included (we... More

I wanted to sign up for a 4 day/3 night tour with Ecoamazonia resort, and decided to sign up through their Cusco sales office. The owner of the Cusco hotel where I was staying accompanied me to the office, to help translate and negotiate. When we first spoke to them by phone, the woman in the EcoAmazonia sales office said... It was the beginning of the southern hemisphere summer when our group of 12 adventure tourists arrived at the EcoAmazonia Resort, 1h15 downstream of Porto Maldonado. There were lovely but dimly lit cabins, a nice covered pool & grounds. Pool water was clean but murky. Power was on only from 5:30-10 pm, supposedly by government edict. All meals are served... More

This is our only jungle experience so far, so we cannot compare to other lodges. We had a scare when the engine of the boat to take us from Puerto Maldonado downriver to Ecoamazonia needed some quick repairs to start, but after that all went smoothly. We had read the warnings on other reviews that you can only take minimal... More

This was our first experience with the jungle. Eco Amazonia is about 1 hour by boat downriver from Puerto Maldonado. They picked us up from the bus terminal and later took us by boat to the lodge. The lodge has good amenities. The cabins are nice, clean with a full bath and shower, cold water only but that's not really... More

As far as jungle lodges go, this is one of the best i have stayed in. Great staff and guides, good food, comfortable accommodation and in a location where we were able to see plenty of wildlife. Monkeys, parrots, tarantulas (!) and Caiman were among the jungle critters that we were able to spot on our excursions into the rainforest.... More

First of all, this last time I was with a very large group, and on an extremely overpriced tour. So I can't comment on the value, as the tour host walked away with a LOT of money. Now, this has nothing to do with the lodge, just on my ability to comment on the value. Secondly, I have been at... More

My group of 24 had a good time while here. The food was fine(buffet style) and although there is only tepid water for showers and lights from 5:30 to 10:00 pm, it was an excellent introduction to the Peruvian jungle. We did several excursions, one to Monkey Island to see the monkeys, a jungle walk and canoe trip to see... More
