We really enjoyed our stay at Kapievi. The grounds, which are being re-jungled, are very peaceful. The lodges are all unique and tastefully decorated. We also really liked the way that staff are treated, almost like family, sometimes eating with the owner. It felt like home very quickly, and we were sad to go.

Kapievi has been a real experience! Definitely, not for everybody, especially if you are a spoiled tourist that only goes to "all inclusive resorts"... If you are OK with "roughing it up" a little, you will experience a connection with Mother Earth that will definitely change your perspective on life. Pierina really has a vision: empower local women to promote... More

Kapievi ... Mornings of Kundalini yoga with Akalbir singh ... Great Vegetarian cooking with Pierina and Roxana ... Living in the middle of the Amazon rainforest near Amazon Shelter (for animal protection) and many incredibles places for ecotourism ... Have the feeling like being at home with a great smiling family ... Priceless!!!!!

Kapievi is located just outside of Puerto Maldonado (5 min by taxi about 5-6 soles), the basic cabins have no outer walls on several sides, and have nets to keep mosquito's out. This means that at night you hear every animal around the cabin, it was a very nice experience :) There is no internet available, but if necessary you... More

Kapievi was a great place to stay and we really enjoyed our 5 night stay there. The huts were very clean, the food was great (even thougth I am not vegetarian) and the staff are very helpful. The yoga was much different from what we were used to, but we definitely enjoyed the experience. Kapievi is on a road that... More

Not everyone likes to go to a resort in the middle of the Amazon. Kapievi is a charming and eco way to discover the jungle. The accommodations are clean and comfy, my hut had net walls that kept it very nice temperature, and I could hear and see the jungle outside my door the whole time. They are like a... More

When I first arrived at Kapievi I was a bit nervous, been surrounded by so much nature was overwhelming... but when Pierina came to welcome me, I immediately felt reassured and happy to be there. I met wonderful, kind people at Kapievi. Coming from London it was such an experience to just hear animals or silence... The lodges are really... More

Kapievi is a secret gem near the heart of Puerto Maldonado. I have been traveling to Puerto Maldonado for the past 3 years, and Kapievi has become like a second home I always return to. In contrast to Puerto's dusty, crowded streets a mere 5 minutes away, Kapievi is a beautiful oasis full of permaculture gardens, local arts, and community... More

I went to stay with Pierina and the other very friendly people at Kapievi in February 2012. I was warmly welcomed. The garden is beautiful, the food is fresh and healthy and the rooms are inviting and comfortable.

Kapievi feels like home, which is why many travelers stay for longer than just a few days. I lived at Kapievi for five months doing fieldwork in anthropology. I saw many a satisfied traveler come through, to drink Ayahuasca, to relax in the quiet abode, practice yoga, and to explore the rainforest. This eco-aldea is unique in the integrity of... More
