Awesome place! Great value, not to close to town to be bothered by the hustle and bustle but close enough to walk in for lunch, supplies etc. Super friendly and helpful staff. Always ensured we had clean comfortable rooms. Gave us all the info we needed for a fun and adventurous time in PM. Abed was happy for us to... More

I was suppose to stay here in June 2014. First off they were suppose to meet us at the airport they didn't. When we did manage to find the place on our own they were unapologetic. The room they took us to smelled horrible spider webs everywhere and dusty dirty. I always check beds immediately for bed bugs and one... More

My university friend and I travelled from Cusco to do the 2 day/ 3 night tour provided by Tarantula eco-tours. I have recommended it to everyone I know already. We arrived by flight; the lodge is a very short tuk tuk ride from Puerto airport. - I advise that you get your own taxi; the lodge will pay for it... More

The bed was fine. The shower was hot. Breakfast was good. The Wifi worked. Abdel was nice enough to pack the bow and arrow set that I'd purchased from the Matsiguenka Tribe inside a pvc pipe so I could bring it home on the airplane as packed luggage. Playing with the neighbor's monkey, Lula (and several of her chums) was... More

We had a great time at Tarantula Hostel. The room was clean, the bathroom ok. The pool was really nice and the owner, Abdel really nice with us! The breakfast was actually really nice, compared to some more fancy hostel in bigger city, We took a tour with the hostel, 2d/1n in the jungle, it was awesome! We had great... More

We stayed here for one night and it wasn't enjoyable. The rooms weren't great and there were loads of bugs coming in from somewhere. At one point a tarantula was actually in the room - we had to get the owner to come and deal with it. When my husband went to the bathroom in the night he found three... More

My friend Sarah and I wanted a true adventure in the jungle, and were wary of so many online or even in travel guides that seemed lame. Well, we had a great adventure at the tarantula lodge. The hostel was totally fine. It was clean, the food was great, there is wifi. But we were able to book a tour... More

Tarantula hostel is a friendly and nice place. Not the cheapest in town, but the prices are agreeable. The location is very good for travelers. Five minutes by taxi from the busstation and ten from the centre of Puerto Maldonado. Far enough to be away from the honking cars and close enough to grab a bite in town. It is... More
