I stayed two nights here. Room was clean and breakfast was plentiful. The owners were very friendly and helpful in planning trips for me. The hostel is very convenient to the airport and very easy to get taxi/collectivo into town.Next door there is a very nice thai restaurant.I could not have asked for more

We went there for a two days jungle trip to the lodge. That was really good:-) Marco - our guide - explained a lot to us about flora and fauna. Also we went for the tree tops, a boat on Lake Sandoval, wild Monkeys, Caymans, Spiders... Staff and food was also perfect. One the way back to the bus it... More

I did a trip to the jungle of Puerto Maldonado with "Tarantula Expeditions" - and I wouldn't do it again! I really regret that I wasted 270$ for this tour. The guide wasn't interested in his job and absolutely boring! When we arrived, our guide didn't even say hello to us or told us his name. We didn't get any... More

The location is very near the airport, but that's a positive! Easy to get there, easy to get back. You aren't missing anything by not staying in town. You could stay in one of the jungle lodges, but the cost can be prohibitive for those. We saw an Agouti in the yard as soon as we checked in and Tamarins... More

I stayed here for four nights in September 2014 and had a great time. The main lodge is located close to the airport and is easy to find, if you're trying to stay in the city of Puerto Maldonado it is a little ways out, but most people come here to go out into the jungle. Its a peaceful and... More

We booked a jungle trip to Sandoval Lake from Cusco (the guy was Edgar and it was a bit strange, but we trusted him). We arrived with the bus, got picked up, could sleep in the hostel (35 Soles per night per person) and the next the we went to the jungle. They have always a guy in the hostel... More

Tarantula Eco tours organised our 4 day Amazon stay. We were picked up from the airport and had lunch at the hostel before being dropped off at the river. Half an hour boat ride and an enjoyable 2hour walk along a easy muddy track we arrived at our lodge. All our photos turned out amazing. You cannot go wrong with... More

We booked our tour in Cusco through Macaw Adventure Perú Tour located on Calle Suecia, just a short walk from Plaza Des Armas. David, the owner, was very helpful and organized everything including our transportation to and from Cusco. Once in Puerto Maldonado, the owner of Tarantula Eco Hostel met us and handled everything on that end. We had our... More

Had an overnight stay at the hotel. The room was very basic but the staff were great people. Wifi seems to go down once in a while due to the ISP. The hotel is very close to the airport maybe 5 minutes or so. The town is still has a lot of dirt roads and very country feel.

Awesome place! Great value, not to close to town to be bothered by the hustle and bustle but close enough to walk in for lunch, supplies etc. Super friendly and helpful staff. Always ensured we had clean comfortable rooms. Gave us all the info we needed for a fun and adventurous time in PM. Abed was happy for us to... More
