We'd read about the trek to reach this lodge on TripAdvisor so we were reasonably prepared. However the heavy rain immediately before we set off had left the track inches deep in slippery muddy water, so in the heat and humidity it was really quite a challenging hike. Once we arrived, the lake is indeed beautiful, and the lodge although... More

Dear guest Thank you for sharing your experience. We are glad you were able to see so many animals. You need to bear in mind that Tambopata is a protected area and work to fix trails are not allowed as it changes the enviroment for animals therefore during the rainy season (Mid Nov until mid March approx) the experience is... I found this place very different to anywhere I've ever stayed before. The staff are amazing, very welcoming and knowledgeable and clearly very passionate, which was lovely! The whole experience wasn't really my cup of tea as I'm NOT a nature person but I wanted to try something different than the usual beach/city breaks, and this was definitely different! Breakfast... Stayed here on a tour through the Amazon. The staff is very knowledgable and you will see animals around the lodge grounds and even more on the water tours. The rooms are open to the jungle with netting over the beds making the experience so wonderful. It's also eco friendly which is so nice to see but also has downfalls.... More

We hiked into this lodge in September and the trail was mostly dry. We slipped in the mud a few times but it was all a part of our adventure. If you are a bird watcher, this is the place for you. We say the black cayman, but I didn't like the fact that the guide encouraged it to come... More

the rooms are quite large, every evening before bed staff come and adjust your mosquito net. The staff in the whole facility are friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. The first time I stayed there, our tour guide informed the dining room staff that I was diabetic and they went out of their way to make sure there were... More

If you love being secluded out in the middle of the jungle, this is the place. The rooms were clean & equipped with mosquito nets to keep the critters out while you sleep. Electricity was very limited. They only turn it on from 5:30pm-10pm and maybe an hour in the morning. They have a strict lights out policy at 10pm.... More

Bring snacks ! Breakfast was only a pancake and small cup of fruit and next day's was small amount of scrambled eggs and bread. Suppers were lasgana and uncooked chicken. If you're coming here to see giant otters, we didn't see them after several attempts, don't put your heart in it. Don't see any macaws up close at this lodge... More

We just returned from a 3 night stay and it was wonderful. For those that complain about the arduous journey in, we found it to the part of the excitement. You really feel like you're deep in the jungle. We had a porter (Simon) who carried everything we needed for our stay and he did the hike in flip flops!... More
