Stayed here for four days and three nights. Everything ran like clockwork from being met at the airport by our guide; Edds Quiesepe you were fantastic company; to all the excursions, walks in the jungle and canoeing on the lake. Rooms were clean but fairly basic and comfortable. Food was good and plentiful and each group eat with their guide which... More

Our party of 4 spent 4 days and 3 nights in Sept. 2014. We booked through InkaNatura Travel and our guide was Javier. He was great. I would strongly recommend InkaNatura. They provided complete transportation from the airport in Puerto Maldonado to the lodge and back to the airport. This includes a 45 minute motorized canoe ride up the Madre... More

As described in other reviews, this is a great way to experience, observe, and enjoy the Amazon rainforest. Our guide Jhon was very good. We were met at the airport in Puerto Maldonado, despite our flight being 1+hrs late. You're then taken to their head office in the city, in order to pack a smaller duffel bag for your trip,... More

First I should make it clear that I love remote places - usually for me that means camping. Sandoval lake lodge provides the opportunity to stay in an isolated lodge on a lake in the middle of a Peruvian Amazon reserve but get there fairly easily (rather than trek 5 days to get there). The package includes pick up ad... More

I have traveled all over the world and to Africa. The wildlife here was nonexistent. The bus they picked us up at the airport needs to be junked. The food was fair. The room was nice. The staff were great.we were there for three nights.take they had taken us on the canoe ride down the Amazon.they it so uncomfortable I couldn't wait to get... More

Dear Guest Thank you for your comments Yes, commodity, quality service and security are things we guarantee. Unfortunately an animal sighting in the wild depends on many factors. To state that at one of the most famous conservation reserves of the Amazon rainforest wildlife is nonexistent, seems to us unreasonable and out of place. More

Our family of six adults had an amazing experience at Sandoval Lake Lodge. The adventure started as we were taxied to the port to get on a motorized boat down the Madres de Dios River. Then we hiked 3 km through lush forests where we saw huge Kapok trees and exotic moths and butterflies. Lastly we boarded large canoes where... More

We were here for two nights as a large group of 16 and almost occupied one full wing. Excellent lodging and other facilities considering the way out location of the lodge. Food is reasonably good, healthy breakfast and there is bar too. The best part is that shoes and smoking both not allowed inside the lodge area and rooms. Its... More

The place is amazing. Getting there is quite and adventure and you will have to walk 3Km through the jungle. Then again, that was a big plus for us. You walk through the jungle with monkeys crossing over the tree tops, macaws flying around... Do note the place is a lodge, not a hotel. Any supplies the place has have... More

We so enjoyed our stay at Sandoval Lake, really a highlight of our Peru trip. The trip in involves a motor canoe from Pt Maldonado, a ~1.5 km flat hike (but in the dry season we did not have the mud /rubber boot issue). Porters carry your luggage in. After the walk in you take a canoe ride thru a... More
