The lodge itself was very nice - lovely wooden floors (permanently polished by staff), agreeably large, airy and light main building, rooms were very good. The food was good, given the location. As other reviewers comment, the rooms are open at the top, hence noisy neighbours could be a problem. We had a rather large and noisy US family at... More

I should have written this review a long time ago, but I kind of forgot. My mom and I spend about 10 days in Peru and started off with 3 days in the Amazon. Our flight didn't arrive in Puerto Maldonado until the afternoon, so when the van and 3 young men picked us up at the airport, they emphasized... More

Such an unbelievably stunning place! The entire experience was quite breathtaking. From the magical lake to the incredible rainforest, this lodge gave us amazing views of the best that nature has to offer! The staff were super nice and friendly and the food to die for. I would love to come back here one day! Perfect peaceful retreat for the... More

We stayed there 3 nights as a couple and loved that place. The organisation, accommodation and hospitality were excellent. But the best was actually our guide Paolo who led us through day and night tours everyday. Thanks to his passion and knowledge we could see a wide range of the wildlife and learned a lot about the nature around that... More

We had a phenomenal experience at Sandoval Lake Lodge. The amount of wildlife we saw blew us away. From the giant otters playing with the babies and the adults catching piranhas, to our early morning hike to see the many different species of parrots and birds feeding on the dead palm trees, to our night hike and finding many nocturnal... Stayed here for four days and three nights. Everything ran like clockwork from being met at the airport by our guide; Edds Quiesepe you were fantastic company; to all the excursions, walks in the jungle and canoeing on the lake. Rooms were clean but fairly basic and comfortable. Food was good and plentiful and each group eat with their guide which... More

Our party of 4 spent 4 days and 3 nights in Sept. 2014. We booked through InkaNatura Travel and our guide was Javier. He was great. I would strongly recommend InkaNatura. They provided complete transportation from the airport in Puerto Maldonado to the lodge and back to the airport. This includes a 45 minute motorized canoe ride up the Madre... More

As described in other reviews, this is a great way to experience, observe, and enjoy the Amazon rainforest. Our guide Jhon was very good. We were met at the airport in Puerto Maldonado, despite our flight being 1+hrs late. You're then taken to their head office in the city, in order to pack a smaller duffel bag for your trip,... More

First I should make it clear that I love remote places - usually for me that means camping. Sandoval lake lodge provides the opportunity to stay in an isolated lodge on a lake in the middle of a Peruvian Amazon reserve but get there fairly easily (rather than trek 5 days to get there). The package includes pick up ad... More

Dear Guest Thank you for your comments Yes, commodity, quality service and security are things we guarantee. Unfortunately an animal sighting in the wild depends on many factors. To state that at one of the most famous conservation reserves of the Amazon rainforest wildlife is nonexistent, seems to us unreasonable and out of place. More
