Me and my friend just staye on this island in San Blas as a cheaper alternative to doing the more expensive yacht tours. This island is split into two hostels... Cabanas Franklin and Senidup. We stayed at cabanas franklin but wished we had of stayed at Senidup. The accommodation seemed very comparable on both sides (simple cabanas) and the island... More

If you are a female, and/or will be traveling with female family/friends to Franklin's - PLEASE READ THIS: On our hostels suggestion, my friend and I (both girls) stayed at Isla Franklin at San Blas Island in Panama. My experience was a deeply disturbing one. First of all, there are two companies that own resorts on this island. The one... More

This is an incredible place...not luxury...but profound beauty. The side trips to other island were exceptional. However, the island needs to find a safe way for disposing human waste. If you are up late at night, you can watch pales of waste being lugged to the sea...and emptied where people swim by day. I am rating them low because of... More

I had the pleasure of staying here and it was everything I expected. I was alone on an island of couples, so I did not enjoy being there alone, nor would I recommend going alone. The only reason is that this is a remote tropical island with nothing to do. That goes both ways, really though; if you want absolute... More

You're on an island that's barely 100m, awesome! Make sure you bring a book per day. It's good because if you want to chill you can but it's one of the bigger Islands so if you want to meet people and hang out you can. I didn't bring snacks but meals are small so if you're a big eater bring... More

Staying at Franklins.was very relaxing and the food was quite good. They only charge $1.50 for beers. I would suggest bringing a flash light as they turn off the electricity at 11:00. You will also need cash. They don't take credit cards. Bring extra snacks and you should be good. The kuna require that only 4 wheel drives are brought... More

The San Blas Islands are one of the most beautiful places in Panama. There is no going wrong with sitting on the beautiful beaches with the soft white sand and the brilliant blue Caribbean always within your view. The Kuna are touch and go as far as being friendly, I met some very friendly and some not so much. Part... More

Definitely recommend this place. We saw other islands further out that had a bit more tranquility, but Franklin's was by no means crowded or rowdy. We stayed on the Franklin side of Isla Tubasenika, but partied on the Senidup side at night, (literally 5 meters walk). Both sides have beer, water, soda, and candy for sale; but you may want... I stayed on the Senidup side of this tiny island. The accomm is simple but clean and in keeping with the environment. The toilets and showers are better than expected. The staff of are polite and helpful. The beach is almost immaculately clean. The swimming and snorkeling is good with some coral. This is one of the cheapest places to... More

The island truely is paradise, turquoise seas, sun, white sand. There is a lovely breeze at one we of the beach which is good when sunbathing. The rooms are basic - huts with sand floor and beds. The sheets weren't very clean - they almost looked like people had already slept on them. The toilets and showers (only at certain... More
