It just isn't apples to apples to compare this with a traditional hotel or even hostel. The San Blas are a one-of-a-kind place and Kuanidup gives you a one-of-a-kind experience, albeit very rustic. I had educated myself somewhat before I went, so I knew not to expect most modern amenities. If you're researching San Blas here on Trip Advisor, then... More

Kuanidup was an amazing experience and neat was to see the ocean and really enjoy it. The beach is beautiful on the tiny island with white sand and blue water. If you normal eat more than just a small plate of food make sure to bring lots of snacks cause they feed you the bare minimum and only when it's... More

Reading some of these negative reviews made me disappointed, as I completely disagree and have nothing but GREAT things to say! Of course, people have different expectations on lodging and service, and different definitions of vacation and experience. If you are seeking to experience a new culture in a rustic paradise, learn how others live a simple and beautiful life,... More

This place is not for everyone. If you are expecting a resort, dont come here. If you are appalled at the thought of flushing a toilet with a bucket of salt water, stay away. If you need constant electricity and room service, you will not enjoy Kuanidup. However, if you like a secluded sandy beach with warm turquoise waters and... More

The location is certainly beautiful but the poor facilities make it difficult to enjoy an extended stay. We did expect basic facilities and yet were disappointed by what was offered and the lack of attention/little touches to make the stay more enjoyable. The mini-island is very cute but absolutely packed with huts so there is not really that much space... More

The setting is absolutely spectacular; super white sand beaches and deep turquoise waters. No beefs at all with the people on the island; we had fun with the Kuna people. BUT be ready for some Spartan conditions. Sand floors in the huts, bathroom where you bring salt water from barrels outside to flush the toilets (but this facility is upscale... More

This island is, without question, beautiful. It is therefore such a shame that the current owners do nothing to make the stay enjoyable. The food is, quite simply, the worst I have ever had, anywhere, in 40 years. The service was at best indifferent and at worst rude. The concept of "all inclusive" means something completely different on this island.... More

I have to agree with much of the previous person's post. This is an incredibly beautiful place. But the service on the island was not very good. The boat guy tried to tell me I could not return in the afternoon on my 2nd day, but rather in the morning, which would have cut my 2 day stay almost in... More

We stayed at Kuanidup this past week as a party of eight extended family members. The place is a real adventure, to say the least. On the whole, due to a number of reasons, we cannot recommend staying there. Price: We paid over $600 for one night for 8 people, including transportation. Rooms: You stay in huts whose minimalism cannot... More
