A group of us recently visited Panama. As a part of that trip, we decided to spend Valentine's Day on Isla Taboga [Taboga Island] just an hours boat ride off of Panama City. We booked into the B&B Cerrito Tropical and, after looking around town some, we checked in. The B&B is at the far end of the town, and... More

We visited Taboga for two and a half days over New Years and stayed at the B&B Hotel Cerrito. We enjoyed our stay, and the proprietor Cynthia made us feel very much at home and was a great resource for our time on the island, particularly given our limited Spanish. We stayed in the upper level two bedroom apartment, and... More

I visited Taboga Island for the day with 15 USA college students. Instead of going to the big (tourist's) beach on the right side of the ferry exit, we walked to the left and parked ourselves on the beach in front of the restaurant Calaloo (a yellow building). Cynthia, the owner rented chairs and umbrellas (2 chairs/1 umbrella for $15;... More

Outstanding place to stay in Taboga, will recommend the Ceritos to my friends. Very warmed and helpfull staff. The food is to die for, lots of see food and friendly atmosphere. Will come back again in the near future. I love this place and the near by beaches. Taboga is the island of the flowers .

What a great time we had with Cynthia and her attentive staff. We enjoyed one of the Mango rooms, staying on Isla Taboga for 3 nights. Our room was nice size with a private bathroom with a big shower and hot water - don't take these things for granted on an island. I would like to mention here that this... More

If it weren't for the efforts of the staff, this place would have rated but a single star. And while the small staff tried hard to please, it was apparent they weren't given any direction by what I would loosely describe as "management". I had originally chosen the Cerrito because (a) it received the #1 ranking (of 2) and (b)... More

We only spent a day on the island but enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the B & B. It was very relaxing - great food and amazing views. The owner (Cynthia) was there as well and we had a great visit. Taboga is a lovely island - fun to walk around - beautiful flowers and a great beach. We took the... More

We stayed at the Hotel Cerrito in August 2012. Making the reservation was simple and communication was excellent. We booked the mid level room because the description described the room as having on demand hot water. When we arrived at the island we were greeted at the dock by a Cerrito employee. He had arranged for a "taxi" to take... More

Thank you so much for your nice review. Its true that many people coming to the tropical islands like Taboga do not expect hot water, however we do have an on demand hot water system. The gas tank was being changed which is why it did not work when you first arrived. This is an environmentally friendly system as it... More

My husband and I just spent a wonderful day at Cerrito Tropical. It was my birthday and it was truly a marvelous place to spend a special day. The rooms were clean and comfortable; the staff, friendly and inviting; the food is the best on the island. We also met other interesting travelers from different parts of the world so... More
