We made one of our few mistakes staying here. The pool is filthy as is the kitchen and the shred bathrooms. The receptionist an English girl was not overly helpful and made you feel as though you were interrupting her every time you asked a question. Location is not central, and we were just happy to get out of there... More

We stayed here for one night as we continued on the next morning. We were provided with lots of different options for rooms, all of which were a great price and value for your money. We ended up staying in a private with shared bathrooms. The room itself wasn't much, and was a bit hot, but the hostel made up... More

We stopped here overnight just to lay our heads before continuing on our bus journey the next day. The host had the funniest sense of humor. The rooms were big, clean and quiet. The pool area was really nice to have in this hot area. Communal kitchen was nice, and they even had a little gym area outside, which was... More

For $11 bucks with free swimming pool and Hot water shower and big big kitchen, is this worth? YES, definitely good value of money. Private room with share bathroom is another good option because it's cheap and still including everything so it's similar to perfect private room. Why not choose it? That's why I'm so happy to be here. Manager,... More

we stayed here one night, and I'm glad it was only one night. We had a room right next to reception which was a little noisy, but nothing compared to the late night cock fighting going on outside. Nothing about the hostel seemed especially safe. The door to our room had clearly been kicked open at some point so didn't... More

We stayed at the Bambu Hostel in David for one night and it was good. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful. We stayed in a private room with a/c and it was very clean. They provide clean towels and bars of soap which was nice. There's a pool to relax in, hammocks to sway in, and a bar/restaurant where... More

I was in the no-a/c dorm (un-needed) and there were definitely no bugs in the earlier-mentioned review. It is a creaky place on stilts that swings when anyone walks across it and my bed was sort of tilted(?), but it was clean and the beds all had built-in mosquito netting (also un-needed). There is a great common kitchen, fast wifi... More

I liked the location, not far from the bus terminal. I liked the breakfast for a good price, and the close-by little restaurants were fine. The site is nice, the pool is clean and there are places to hang out. The room we stayed in, however, had bedbugs. I am positive of it as they started showing the morning after... More

That simply is not true. We examined the mattress and the entire room for any sign of bedbugs, and after researching it online see that they leave a tell tale stain...there is nothing there, and we did take that seriously, and this is the first ever complaint of bedbugs, and further as a precaution the mattress was treated as well.... Really cool place to stay, especially for backpackers - the new kitchen is fantastic! The bar and pool are great to hang out in/by and the atmosphere is chilled out. Although there's not a lot to do in David itself, there are plenty of places relatively nearby to visit.

This is hands down a killer hostel with the most RELAXING vibe, no hurries, no worries.... Greg was such a good source of information, he went out of his way to make sure you got a taxi when you wanted, repeated directions over and over to so many of us weary travelers ( ALWAYS WITH A SMILE believe it or...
