We came here based on the airbnb reviews, and we were pleased to find a very nice and friendly hostel. We stayed in a private room, which was big and nice with a good aircon and plenty of hot water. The atmosphere was very friendly and both the staff, the owner and the volunteers working there were helpful and very... More

After staying in many hotels and hostels from Cancun to David I found The Bambu Hostel to be my favorite. The hostel has several choices, the Tree House is a unique building on natural tree post stilts and is open air, a totally cool experience. There are also regular dorm rooms and private rooms. The kitchen is a real gathering... More

If you need to be in David (to break up a journey or something) then this is a good option, but I wouldn't go here especially as there is nothing to do in David! It's a sociable hostel and has a bar and kitchen and good wifi, also the restaurant opposite has good cheap fish. Unfortunately staying in the 'Jungle... More

Hold on a second! The " jungle House" dorm is an authentic forest house on stilts and is extremely popular with budget backpackers. The JH is outside of the main house and is surrounded by lush tropical gardens and perched above the trees with a stunning view of the swimming pool. Travelers truly enjoy this unique type of lodging and... More

Nice hostel to stay. Located in a quiet area, close to the big super market which is open 24 hours and restaurants. Easy to get to centre. AC in the room was good, hot water available. Nice and helpful staff.

This hostel is on a calm residential area of David. There is a very good and cheap (<5$) fish restaurant at the opposite. The staff is very friendly and the hostel itself very good value for money. I stayed at the tripical treehouse dorm and slept well with earplugs. Remember to being earplugs as there are many animals making noise... More

This place was great! A buddy and I used it as a 3 day recoup period between Drake Bay and Bocas Del Toro. The pool was great, the hammocks were plentiful, the staff was extremely helpful (I crashed mountain biking the day before arriving and they helped keep me bandaged up!), and the owner was great to talk with. It's... More

I had a lot of fun at tgis hostel. Great location great staff and the owner is very nice . The pool is great when it is too hot in david. Lots of shade and comfy beds. I hade made another review but the last reviewer did not log out. So its under a wrong name. To bad they did... More

Just had an overnight stay on the way btw Bocas and Paama City and we're not disappointed. The owner is really friendly and the facilities are nice. However it sucks that you have to pay $5 extra to use them after check out time if having to kill times while waiting for a bus etc. The pool and kitchen are... More

Thanks for spending a few days with us, and I'm glad that you enjoyed the laid back 'vibe'. If a guest wants to hang out here an hour or two after check out time, we won't charge you, but if you are catching the night bus to panama city we charge a 5 dollar day pass. This allows you access... More

If you like to be on the edge of town, this place fits the bill. Quiet neighborhood and yet only 10 mins. walk to a big supermercado and some OK places to eat. The owner Greg is very accommodating and the place is clean enough with some various amenities. Has a dipping pool and a kitchen to use. Unlike most... More

Thank you, and I appreciate that you said, "for a hostel". I want people to know that we are not a hotel, resort, or quaint country inn. Bambu is a backpacker hostel. Sometimes folks want the fun, internet wifi, social life, and low prices of a hostel, but are not willing to accept the fact that hostels have more noise,... More

I admit it took me a while to adjust to Hostel living but once accustomed to the atmosphere, this was a nice place to stay. Service was good, staff was friendly, room was clean, and guests were eclectic. I would stay here again without reservation.
