The outside of the hotel allured me into staying. I was very disappointed. The building is amazing though I wished I had stayed somewhere else and made a visit to see the hotel. The rooms are very shoddy and not very clean (rust on the fixtures in the bathroom, holes in the walls from installing cable - not patched, some... More

Washigton Hotel, Colon Only come if you are romantic and like historical places, if you are expecting fancy well restored places do not come. But if you are interested in Panama history you must visit this place. The building is very beautiful, but need a very urgent restaurauration! this could be one of the most beautiful heritage hotels in the... More

One way or another, it´s nice to stay in old hotels, even when they have known better days. The setting couldn´t be better (with views on the ships on their way to the Canal), you can use the pool and the rooms are OK (however, you can tell that the bathroom wasn´t a very important room during the glory days... Far from that I tell you, my experience was horrible the Bathroom had MOLD, asked to be transfer the very next morning but the new room was not any better from the first one, except for the view... I have been coming to Colon, Panama since the 70's. I remember this hotel n its' glory days but I still love it. I love being near the sea, watching the waves and ho convenient it is to all m family and friends. There are other hotels that are newer in Colon, but I still like staying here. The rooms... More

I am trying to wirte this from the hotel but the wi fi keeps going dead. The view is lovely but shortly after I checked in, the hotel brought a soundtruck by the pool to BLAST so called music and it has been going on for hours. Salsa I like, but this is cretinous ghetto stuff that you would have... More

Totally refurbished, new marble floors, painted, newly redone modern restaurant, new pool. Lovely inside and out. Reminds me of a faded empress trying so hard to stay young, in spite of the wrinkles. We truly enjoyed our stay here. Take a taxi everywhere; kids panhandling on the streets, and very poor city and tourists advised not to walk around. That... More

I stayed here for two nights, as kind of an adventure.. what a location, right on the water, boats all around, and they gave me a corner room, but this place hasn't been upgraded since the 70's, and is near some of the worst ghettos of Colon, along the canal front running back from the hotel a few blocks south,...
