Location is perfect, next to Boquete's square, where you can find supermarkets, restaurants, tourist office an ATM. I have problems with my bed, since they gave it to another guest once I was already settled in... no much of a big deal but it tells a lot about how organize they are, plus I find the place relatively small compare... Mamallena is very well located at the center square which makes it an excellent basis for exploring the area! On the other hand, however, rooms in front are extremely noisy due to trucks and music. The place is a typical backpacker hub with good shared facilities (although the hot water did not work!) and plenty of spaces to meet other... More

My wife and I stayed here two nights in August 2014. We reserved a private room with shared bathroom through email. The good: rooms were furnished better than average and beds were comfortable. There was a dresser and a nightstand in our room, along with several hooks to hang some clothes. The bad: the worst part of this hostel is... More

This is an alright place to stay. The cleaners are constantly in operation so shared areas like the kitchen and garden get closed frequently. The gas ran out so the free pancake brekkie was unavailable. The printer ink ran out too. The staff are all pretty tired and grouchy. The room was fine and bathroom clean.

Great place to lay a head, rooms were clean and spacious. Cozy common rooms also. The staff were pretty friendly and organised days tours around Boquete and shuttles to Bocas for 25 dollars. Plenty of hot water in shower too for the cool mountain climate.

The hostelroom is not big and has 7 beds in it, quite a lot. What I disliked is the very bad warm water pressure, only the shower upstairs had warm water when you turned it all the way on. Also I didn't really like that there were only sinks in the hallway, it's a bit odd to have everyone passing... More

The have many lounge areas and places to chill and hang out, and the communal kitchen is huge and pretty well stocked. They offer breakfast included in your rate, but we went out for breakfast every morning. Their wifi connection is good throughout the hostel, and seemed to offer good speed (enough to make skype voice calls etc.) The excursions... More

I stayed at Mamallena for six nights in early June. For someone traveling alone, the common areas were a great place to meet people and make plans to do things together. The staff were incredibly helpful, giving directions to the grocery store, drawing maps for the hikes in the area, or giving you a cheap option for place to eat.... More

I stayed here with my friends back in April 2013 when I was studying abroad in Panama City. The staff is really nice and the hostel itself is really clean. They told us a lot about climbing Volcan Baru and we were very satisfied with the city and this hostel.

We stayed here for 4 nights in mid-May, 2014. We had a private room, and it costs only $33 per night, The room was spotless, and in fact the whole hostel is clean and well-managed. The staff is very friendly and have great ideas for things to do in the Boquete area. The location is perfect, right in the middle... More
