It's hot so we were pretty happy to show up at the height of the day's heat and find our tent air conditioned and perfectly suited for a nap. Waking up as he day's heat disappeared we started to explore the dunes and enjoy the great site. And great is right. Fantastic food, service and hospitality with scenery coupled by a... More

What fun this was. Out in the desert, riding up the sand dunes with the jeep sliding everywhere. Standing at the top with the most beautiful sunset ever. Food was wonderful, rooms were very comfy, with everything needed. Music was great. Everyone should experience this. Also riding the camels.

There are several of theses camps in the neighbourhood, but Desert Nights is rumoured to be the best, this was backed up by one of our number that had lived in Oman for 4 years and took people out there on a regular basis. The chalets are in the form of a concrete tent, large wooden doors lead to a... More

We have been here four times, and each and every time its been fantastic. Attentive staff, well maintained, good food, and nice to have a bar to sit in before your evening meal. Clean and properly run, which is not always the case in Oman.

This was our third trip to the Wahiba Sands, each time to a different resort, and this was the most disappointing. We went on the advice of our travel agent, even though more expensive than places like 1000 Nights Camp, on the grounds that it did not involve driving so far on the sands, and therefore not requiring tyres to... Just what you want on a desert escape, really! Very luxurious. Good staff and lovely food. Massive rooms. Excellent provision for those staying two nights - the games room kept us very well occupied. We especially enjoyed our dune-bashing - will never forget Alex screaming the whole time with glee! Best wishes, William

This place is not quite a camp as per the standard of accomodation and service. Bungalows, that still give a tent feelig are very nicely appointed and decorated, and it is a real luxury to have a full size shower in the middle of the desert ! The sunset from the top of the dune is a great moment, even... More

We stayed here for one night, and that was enough. Not because it was awful, but because there was not that much to do. We were driven up the high dune to watch the sunset and had a camel ride ( free) there were also some paid excursions to choose from. Make sure you take something to cover your face... More

Yes, this is a unique experience. The camp is about 11km off the road, across the sands. We had room 11, with an annexe beside it for our driver. First impression is wonderful, but then closer inspection showed many things not exactly 5-star, nor even 4-star. For example, there are only the two coat hangers that have the bath robes... More

We spent two nights at Desert Nights, which is possibly the optimum, as it leaves time to relax and enjoy the ambience, rather than rushing in and out and continually on the go. We had a super stay. The staff were excellent, very helpful and efficient. The meals and accomodation were of a similar standard and the available activities and... More
