The hotel and room facilities especially the size of the room is good. The room did not have any hair dryer, no free WiFi, no bathrobe, nothing provided in the minibar though it's 5 star rated. Staff is terrible, asked for extra blanket and received after 4 hrs only after repeated reminders. Moreover phone to reception is by dialling 0... More

Important to know is that this hotel is one hour’s drive away from Salalah and that the tiny town of Mirbat, which is not within walking distance, has very little to offer tourists in the way of shops and restaurants. Bearing the isolation in mind it is a true resort, and I was well aware of that before booking, having... More

Currently staying. No wifi in room. Wired Internet only wires are there. No connection. Food. Only one poor server in the only restaurant. Took close to an hour to get the food. Quality of food is just ok. No way a 5 star hotel. Nor does it look like marriott. Even check in took 30 minutes. Looked like the guy... More

We staid 1 week in the Salalah Marriott which is actually located in Mirbat which is a very nice quiet place much smaller then Salalah. The rooms could use some refurbishing but they are upgrading things during our stay they changed the TV sets to the latest models and they would also get Wifi in the rooms in the future... More

Dear Cheryan, Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your recent stay at the Salalah Marriott Resort. Indeed we are located at Mirbat which in ancient times was the capital of Dhofar. It makes us closer to nature and history and UNESCO sites like the Frankincense port, Queen Sheeba's castle, Nabi Ayub (Prophet Job) tomb, Anti-Gravity... More

The Salalah Marriott Resort is not located in Salalah city but a 40min drive in Mirbat. Mirbat is a quiet city/village but very nice located directly at the Arabian Sea of the Indian Ocean. Around the hotel is not much so you're pretty much stuck to the hotel. But it met our purpose, as we mainly went for the diving,... More

Spent 2 nights there in April after a fishing trip in the Hallaniyat islands. Initially apprehensive due to the location as it is quite far away from everything. We were lodged in the chalets a 2 minute walk away from the main hotel. This was close to the beach. The adjoining rooms were very well appointed. The beds were very... More

We did some snorkeling in the nearby diving station and walked over to the Marriott. This is an all inclusive place. But the bar keeper was very nice and we could have cappucino, Espresso and soft drinks. They also invited us for free desert. Free WiFi !!! Nice and friendly place.

Why this Marriott is called Salalah beats me. It's close to the village of Mirbat but about 70 kilometres from Salalah, no problem if you are planning to stay on the resort. In Mirbat itself there are a few shops but otherwise the hotel is kind of in the middle of nowhere. We didn't stay in the hotel, so I... More

During the winter, the Marriott is a destination resort for Germans on all-inclusive package tours. Consequently, the hotel does not have a rental car agent or concierge to book excursions. The hotel is over 50 kms from the Salalah airport, but there is a free shuttle. They also offer evening trips to the souq in Salalah. We stayed for six... More
