We had booked to arrive in the early hours of the morning and my husband had contacted the hotel to ensure that they were aware of this and that our rooms would be ready. Arrived to be told that they needed 10 minutes. Half an hour later we were still waiting, with our young children asleep on the grimy seats... More

We booked this hotel whilst in Oman, using booking.com on a mobile. The pictures and info was therefore viewed on a small screen and although the hotel looked good, it was difficult to tell if we had secured a good deal (40 OMR for a twin room for the night) or not! However we were not disappointed! The room was... More

Firstly they let me check in early when I arrived at 830 am and didn't charged me , when checkin is usually 2 pm. Foyer area is large and lots of lounges and arm chairs to relax with the free wifi. Its clean, nicely decorated and smells lovely. Also desktops computers in a separate area off the lobby if you... More

I stayed at the hotel twice this month. On my first stay I had a very restless night because my room was underneath the Japanese restaurant on the 8th floor which meant there was noise from chairs scrapping on the floor etc. The hotel staff were great in moving me to the other side of the hotel for my second... The lady who checked us in was just rude. It really started us off on a bad foot. She wasn't welcoming at all and never smiled at us. The room was ok, a little bit run down. But clean and comfortable. There was one waiter in the restaurant who was very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was delicious. Over... More

This is a fairly average hotel. We were here as part of a tour group and were enthusiastically greeted. The service was good. However I was very concerned about their practice of forcing the two round pin plugs on the lights into 13A rectangular sockets. this of course means that the metal lights are not earthed. I also noticed that... More

The Al Falaj is very comfortable with no complaints apart from a few cracked tiles in the bathroom. There is a dining room which was only serving a buffet on the evening we stayed, but had a good choice off the menu at lunch time and a nice seating area outside. There was a licence bar, which was a bit... More

Imagine entering a hotel with a booking for two adults and a toddler. At the same time a large tour group enters the lobby. The large group is offered a drink on arrival to welcome them. The family with the toddler gets no welcome drink, but is told that the child is supposed to sleep in bed with the parents,... More
