This was our second time staying at the Majan Guest House and except for the major road development right outside the hotel (took a couple of goes to work out how to get onto the service road, trying to miss the diggers!) nothing much had changed! Very friendly staff, wifi, clean rooms - we had booked the 2 bedroom family... More

This hotel is average. There is nothing particularly spectacular, nor interesting about it. The restaurant is OK. The breakfast is OK. The room is OK. You need a car to see Nizwa. As other reviewers have said. It is nearly impossible to get a taxi on the main street in front of this hotel. It is also VERY far from... More

The rooms are nice and clean, free wifi, beds comfortable, spacious. Breakfast very poor! Coffee horrible and the rest... just some toast with marmelade and butter. For the moment there are works on the road, so not easy to access but should be fine shortly. 10min ride to city centre, no problem to find a parking spot. As there aren't... More

I stayed for one night, it's okay but nothing special. Bed was too short for an over 6 footer, ac is very noisey throughout the night. Breakfast in the indian restaurant next door was adequate, cereal. Toast. Omlette. Cake. Tea n coffee. The hotel is small and friendly, basically fine for an overnight in Nizwa. It's right next to the... More

Stayed here 2 nights during roundtrip in Oman. This hotel is one of the rare budget options in Nizwa, but still pretty expensive. Breakfast was basic but ok. Rooms quite spaceous but spartan. The beds seem to be carved out of the stones from the nearby mountains. Be prepared for some days of back acke...

I stayed for 1 night while visiting Nizwa centre. The hotel is in a good location about 10 minutes drive to the centre. There is some parking outside, but this seemed to get full quite often. Reception were very helpful and informative about the surroundings, but the hotel interior is very tired looking and in need of updating (worn carpets,... More

Stayed here for the night to be in Nizwa early for the souk on Friday morning. Reception staff were friendly and helpful with regards to directions and the best time to get down to the souk. The hotel is about a 10 minute drive from the centre of Nizwa. The room was large and a little basic (the telly only... More

The only positive note is the location, not too far from town (all hotels in Nizwa are out of town). The rooms are lacking maintenance, ants and small spiders are roaming freely. The electrical water heater is big enough for ONE quick shower: that means, if you share the room with someone, only one of you can take a warm... More

This is a good, basic hotel which is clean and with good-sized rooms. We stayed two night (they did not clean the room during our stay). The thing to bear in mind is that the hotel is 4kms from Nizwa centre (all hotels are at least 3.5kms distance away) and the thought we had of walking into town was totally... More

First thing first, accommodation in Nizwa certainly does not come cheap. For the amount that we paid for this guesthouse, we could have easily stayed a 4 star hotel in other cities. Having said that, this guesthouse is all that we needed for a simple night's stay in this town, given that we didn't want to splurge even more on... More
