Very charming Inn featuring nice-sized rooms that are tastefully renovated. Part of the property includes an outdoor dining area across the street, which has a nice bar and affords beautiful Hudson River views. There was also music the night we were there. Highly recommended. Athens is a charming little town with interesting architecture, but sadly, well over half the stores... More

What a magical place. From the outstanding hospitality to the humungous weeping willow that hung over my boyfriend…we were entranced. Food was simply fantastic (paired with a lovely Montepulciano). I was touched by the attention to detail, the relaxed ambiance of the hotel and its staff, and the gorgeous room. Shades of white and grey, milk glass lamps, a decadent... More

Outside dining area with a live band was our introduction as we arrived yesterday. The service was outstanding while a lively dancing crowd enjoyed another perfect summer sunset along the Hudson. We ate dinner and the food was excellent. Our waitress came up with excellent suggestions. The room was big and the ac unit was exactly what we needed after... More

This is exactly what we were looking for: we were boating and wanted to find an outdoor on-river cafe with good food and good wine and a little shade. We found it at the Stewart House. The food wasn't just good, it was excellent. We ordered the jerk chicken wings -- had an amazing middle eastern spice with an approachable... More

Thursday, May 14, 2015, reserved The Stewart House' garden, covered patio and outdoor bar for a private cocktail party. The Garden is on the banks of the Hudson River with incomparable views of the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse, Mount Marino and the natural shoreline of the Middle-ground Flats. The Garden itself is beautiful and is a perfect connection between the River and... More

What a spot! We did not stay at the Hotel, we stopped in to have a drink at the outdoor bar. We have been there a half a dozen times now and we really enjoy the atmosphere outdoors. The service is always excellent and what we have had to eat has been fine. However, that being said, the place seems... More

My wife and I spent one night at Stewart House and were pleasantly surprised at how much we loved the hotel. From the beautiful interiors to the extensive history, we were so happy and we really hated to leave. This is certainly not a traditional dusty bed & breakfast--the interiors are clean and minimal, yet they ooze character. Our suite... More

Hudson has been an escape for me from the madness of city life and so I was thrilled to discover this a hidden gem of a hotel! Only a short drive to Hudson and located directly across the river. It is wonderful to look across at Hudson while lounging in the Stewart House's river front patio. Not only is the... More

My husband and I went here for what we had hoped would be a quiet and relaxing stay in a classy, vintage hotel. The start of our trip was promising as the place is sweetly decorated and has a charming feel. BUT what we got is an extremely loud and uncomfortable stay in a weird place that sits atop a... More

We are sorry that music bothered this couple; that is why we provided a meaningful refund when it was requested. However, the fact is that our live music (Friday and Saturday nights in the indoor bar downstairs during the winter time 8 PM-11 PM) was fully disclosed to the guests. The restaurant/bar is below 3 of the rooms in the... More

My boyfriend surprised me with a two-night stay here in the Romeo and Juliet suite for my birthday. As soon as we entered the hotel, we were taken aback by its charm; gorgeous hand-painted wallpaper, old bookshelves with little antique trinkets, and a beautiful copper staircase. Bianca greeted us upon our arrival and proceeded to give us a tour of... More
