I travel extensively, and have stayed at this hotel several times. The security is good, and the staff friendly, but beyond that, it is very ordinary, and in some respects, very 2nd rate. Do not expect anyone to assist you with your bags ! The power is unstable and on and off perhaps 10 or more times a day. The... More

Stayed at this place a few times over the last year while crew changing to go offshore, most time only for one night, but last time I was "stranded" there for 5 nights because of the national fuel strike. Security is very good, all vehicles are security checked on the way in, they even have an airport style security check... More

This is not exactly a place people come on vacation however it is a place that attracts a lot of business people, and safety is paramount. This Hotel offers this it has excellent facilities and the staff go out of there way to be helpful and extremely polite and well mannered. This area is one hell off a security risk... More

Advantages: good security, most of it works well, proximity to the Air Force base for flights to Lagos and oil rigs and a pretty good breakfast. But quite honestly is it really worth GBP 175? I think not. The odd numbered rooms look over the main road which means there is constant blaring of sirens as unofficial offical cars try... More

The Novohotel was one of the best hotels that I visited during my trip to Nigeria. It has excellent facilities with very good clean rooms. It is very expensive but it is nice to have such a high quality hotel in that part of the world More

Having lived and worked in PH for 3 years, this was my first return to PH in over 6 years and was extremely impressed with the Novotel. I only learned of its existence through mates who still work in PH, but travel agents don't seem to know about it. All other reviews describe the hotel perfectly. Maybe there are more... More

If an expat has to get to Port Harcourt it's for work. Because of the dangerous situation it's not recommended for anything else. A pity. The town seems to have a nice African vibe. This hotel is small but well run and well furbished. Food is good (best beef fillet in West Africa), service is friendly and efficient, and the... More

Hotel in one of the most dangerous places in Africa, infamous by kidnapping the foreigners by local criminals is well protected and located near military bases. Rooms are not very large, but more than sufficient so you won't suffer "submarine disease". I stayed in this hotel last year for over a month in one stretch, while the city was at... More

I have stayed in this choice hotel on several occasions. In my last visit in september 08, i noticed that the hotel has become cleaner and more secure. The lifts are now operated with the smart card similar to the one that opens the room doors. With that uninvited guests cannot sneak upstairs. The staff are still very nice, friendly... More

I recently spent a couple of nights at the Novotel PHC for business. As it was my first trip to the Delta and the first hotel in Nigeria other than the Sheraton Lagos that I have stayed in I was a bit skeptical. However, the staff was super, the room was in fine condition, the restaurant was quite nice and,... More
