The Taxi arranged by Los Cardones went to pick us up in Playa Maderas. It’s about 3 hour’s trip, but will totally compensate after you get there. Los Cardonnes is a cracking place! Great surf on fantastic beaches without another person to see for 5kms either side. The food is amazing - a big reflection of the Italian couple, Alex and Marina, running the place. They are extremely welcoming, cook fantastic food and make some pretty strong cocktails! The place was a bit more money than we wanted to spend in Nicaragua ($65 per person), but it includes 3 healthy meals and all you can drink. Unfortunately the beer wasn’t ice cold like I am used to. Los Cardones is not exactly easy to get to which probably is one of the reasons we enjoyed our stay there so much. There are only 5 cabanas on the grounds.
