We have just returned from 5 nights at Le Meridian, Isle of Pines. The island, resort itself, view and the rooms were beautiful. Nearby is the natural swimming pool which is an absolute must, the snorkelling amazing. Unfortunately the food was terrible and expensive. My dreams came true....the hotel is a 5 star resort, absolutely. You don't have to expect a 5-star hotel like in hong kong, there is luxe, but the luxe is the island itself! the food is good, and the prices are not at all upmarket! try to eat in any other part of New Caledonia, and it's everywhere very expensive.... more
