We stayed at The Stiltz for 6 nights in March for a family wedding having spent 6 nights in Cape Town . The Stiltz is a unique proposition. Built into the mouth of the Swakop river the rooms are on stilts (hence the name) above the river bed. Not really a hotel, just (admittedly pretty) rooms for rent plus an average breakfast. We arrived late in the day after a long drive, to stay for a pre-booked two nights. Only the security chap was on duty, who was helpful and polite. No power in the room, so he provided us with a portable lights. Luckily I understand electrics... more
