We didn't stay here so this isn't a review of the hotel, but more a comment that it is worth a visit to see the architecture of the building and its setting in the town. Well worth a look - an exemplary of the Swakopmund architecture and style.

The hotel is a bit dated and the service is patchy. We traveled with two young kids and had booked a family room. What we got was a standard room with a pull out couch that left little floor space. Our dinner reservations for New Year's got lost, but they eventually found a table. Attempts to have the concierge arrange... More

3 nights stay review. Wonderful building in the old train station. Luxury (colonial) feeling, except for the bathroom that was dated. Room was very spacious, clean, nice bed, well lighted in the evening, laptop size safe, coffee-tea maker. Aircon little underpowered. Good wifi, was free for our group. Dinner in the evening was superb. Large selections buffet style with show... More

The hotel is beautiful, but the management of the hotel is shockingly poor. The staff have no idea what they are doing resulting in very poor service levels. In my opinion the management is fully respnsible and I feel bad for the staff being put in a position without the necessary training and taking a lot of flack from customers... More

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a tour. It is a lovely hotel in a good location close to bars and shops. The rooms are luxurious and all that you need and expect for a 5* hotel. I had the best nights sleep of my tour here. We stayed in August so the outdoor pool was a no... More

Although slightly out of the centre this Old station has been turned into an excellent and well appointed hotel. Catering was excellent the only criticism were the bar facilities. Several drinks have to be sourced from the main restaurant which takes time

A good arrival greeting with friendly, helpful front line staff. The hotel was very quiet with a sterile atmosphere, we saw no one in the bar during our stay and few guests around despite being told that the hotel was 80% occupied. The rooms are not as luxurious and OTT as made out in some reviews. Ours (no 248) was... More

This hotel is built in the old Station building combining history with Namibian hospitality, luxury and comfort. My room, like most of them, overlooked the garden where there is a nice swimming pool too. The restaurant offers a wonderful selection of a la carte dishes as well as a speciality buffet.

Wonderful use made of the old station building. Well placed for walking round this interesting town. Very smart reception areas and dining room. Looks posh without being off putting. Big room, very comfy beds, good selection of toiletries, tea, coffee and shortbreads regularly replaced and a chocolate on the pillow at night. Bath with very powerful shower over but I... More
