We have been travelling in Morocco and stopping for a rest in Essauira. As a family with 2 small kids (5 years and 1,5 years) we were very happy staying at Dar Lazuli. Everything was cool and pleasant, the house is charming and comfy and in no time we felt like home. Both Rachid and especially Latifa are open, friendly... More

We had a lovely time at Dar Lazuli appartment. The house is really charming and we were fortunate to have it to ourselves during our stay. Rachid and Latifa were very kind and welcoming. It was a brilliant location for exploring Essaouria. We visited Essaouria after a few days in Marrakech and the combination of the two places made for a... More

Travelling through the Moroccan countryside at sunset from the airport gave a real sense of getting away from it all. On our arrival, Rachel organised Latifa to cook the best ever lemon, olive and chicken tajine with delicious pastries to be eaten by the welcoming log fire. The riad is comfortable, beautiful and romantic, cleverly designed to suit both couples... More

We were 8 persons, stayed in Dar Lazuli for 5 nights and occupied the whole Riad, which was of course very convenient - to have it all for ourselves. Rachel organized the transport and cared for us from the distance. During all our stay we felt careful and discreet attention of Latifa and Rachid. Latifa kept the house perfectly clean,... More

We had a wonderful stay in Dar Lazuli for 5 days with our 3 young children and although not ideal for small people in the sense that the rooms have mezzanines and aren't adjoining it all worked fine. The location is superb. The riad was quite, very clean, comfortable and quirky in the interesting way a riad should be. Latifa... More

Dar Lazuli is a peaceful sanctuary away from home. Tastefully decorated, with every detail thought of. Beautiful colours and cosy design. The location is also perfect. We were staying with our 5 month old infant, it was very comfortable also that the bed was so big to stay for all three of us. Beautiful terraces, sunsets and night views. Latifa... More

Dar Lazuli was just the perfect way to start a week trip to Morocco after a stressful first few months of the year. Situated within the city walls of Essaouira, it's location is perfect for getting around (although Essaouira is not very big). My partner and I stayed in the top room which was small, but as the rest of... More

My first visit to Morocco was made all the more enjoyable by our stay at the Dar Lazuli riad in Essaouira. Breathtakingly beautiful with authentic, tasteful, bright and charming decor, the Dar Lazuli was truly a home away from home for us five girls. Our apartment had simply THE most comfortable emperor-size bed and all of the ammenities needed, plus... More

Dar Lazuli has got to be the best place I have ever stayed. It's such a beautiful base from which to explore Essaouira and get fully immersed in Moroccan culture. The decor and design is beautiful. Rachid and Latifa are absolute stars and so so helpful. I cannot reccomend Dar Lazuli highly enough- I wish I was still there!!!

We were very comfortable in this lovely Riad. Six of us stayed in January to escape the damp and grey days in the UK. We had mostly sunny days which lifted our spirits. the Riad was clean and in a really convenient location close to the fascinating fishing port and with the most comfortable bed I have slept in away...
