We fell in love with Dar Lazuli the moment we arrived. It was pretty much perfect for us. We were really well looked after by Rachid and Latifa and enjoyed the delicious meal that was cooked on our first night. The accommodation was beautifully decorated with comfy beds and a fantastic shower. We enjoyed relaxing on the terrace with a... More

I had a wonderful stay here, we had the place to ourselves but felt so well looked after by the staff staying nearby and always discreetly on hand. The house is so beautifully finished with a magical quality, and unbelievably reasonable prices. It's a real haven to return to, comfy beds, gorgeous sun terrace and a feeling of simple luxury.... I visited with my family and another Family, so sharing the rooms was fun and we had plenty of space as each room has its own little seating area & kitchen. So the kids went in together in the family room and the grown ups had a double each. We loved the terrace for evening drinks & even had a... More

I stayed recently at Dar Lazuli, and was extremely pleased - it was lovingly appointed and furnished, and beautifully decorated in a understated style; it had everything you needed (including ipod docks, good books, coffee makers and working fire places). It was a stone's throw from the old town markets, walls and beach but very quiet. it was unusually cold... More

The accommodation was beautiful, clean and spacious and the attention to detail in the décor was stunning. Rachid and Latifa looked after us with fresh towels and beautiful home cooked food on the first night. This is such a great location as markets, restaurants, beach, bars and camel riding are all very easily accessible on foot. Dar Luzuli felt like... More

We have just come back after an amazing 5day stay at Dar Lazuli. It was central close to the beach and we were welcomed with smiles and good will from the staff. We went with 2 kids (4 and 7 years) and had winter sun every day, so being close to the beach we were able to pop back to... More

This was by far the best place we stayed in during our time in Morocco (out of about 6/7), in just about every aspect. Especially the bed! Huge and incredibly comfortable. The apartment was homely, cosy, yet airy, very clean, and beautifully presented with exquisite decor/design and attention to detail with loads of nice touches. We especially loved the outdoor... Dar Lazuli is a beautiful Moroccan Riad in the heart of Essaouira, location is just perfect. We were there during the Gnaoua Festival, and it was close enough to go to the festival and far enough to sleep well and not being disturb by the crowds. Beds are more comfortable than what is said in the Riad description, I´ve never... More

We loved staying here. Riads can sometimes be quite dark but here lots of light streams through onto balconies and sitting areas. Wonderfully located near all the action but yet still quite and secluded. The place was immaculately clean with soft linen sheets and feathered down pillows on huge beds. Every 'apartment' has it's own fridge and kitchen but we... More

Dar Lazuli is a wonderful Moroccan riad in the heart of Essauira's ancient medina. The riad is huge - it's like stepping into a Tardis! It is beautifully decorated with vibrant colours. You can see the owners (Rachel and Nicola) have really given the riad a homely feel. Thoughtful additional apartment features include; iPod player, safe, books and games. My... More
