We just could not believe our eyes and ears when we opened the door into our room. Beyond the floor-to-ceiling glass window was the Atlantic, crashing onto the rampart walls that seem to form part of the riad's own building. We had been given an upgrade into a large suite with not only this unforgettable view and position, but a... More

A fabulous building in the old Medina of Essaouria. Has been tasefully restored. Helpful staff and good location. The restaurant and sun terrace had great views over the sea. The catering was adequate, but there are loads of great restaurants to choose from in the town anyway, so it did not matter. I would not recommend eating there of an... More

The location actually IN the wall of the Medina at the edge of the ocean is surely what makes this riad appealing. Not much more can be said about the accommodations. We actually like the sound of the surf at night but yes, it could be loud and the windows don't seal well. A wind tunnel was created when you... More

This riad was really lovely to stay in, the staff were accommodating and pleasant and the breakfasts were very nice. However, animal lovers beware, next to the hotel is a dog on a roof terrace that is tied up for 23 hrs a day, sitting in its own mess and held tight by a lead that doesn't allow him to... More

From the outside the building is not very impressive but once you step through the main door it's amazing. The decoration throughout the hotel is very tasteful. From our sea-view bedroom we could hear the waves breaking against the side of the building. Our room was rather small but there are larger ones available ( probably more expensive ).There is a large upstairs... If you like crashing waves lulling you to sleep, this is the place for you! We were shown to our room over the rocky reefs, and across the hall, our kids had a different but equally dramatic view of the ocean. The staff were very nice, considering that I goofed, and came a day early. We were welcomed with mint... More

Stayed two nights here in mid March. As other reviewers have said, the position of this Riad is stunning. The view from the breakfast terrace is awesome. We were travelling with a group so didn't have the option of a sea view room. I can confirm that the these non-sea view rooms are fairly small and dark. The Riad was... More

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel were the views were the best I guess in Essaouira. To look out of the window and see and hear the sea so close is quite thrilling.Even in the night you could hear the crashing waves. To sit on the terrace in the summer must be lovely but in February - March when... More

Spent 3 nights in Essaoura - this riad/hotel has charm though in January it was dark - probably in hot weather this would give respite from the glare of the sun. We were in a sea view suite - room very comfortable and once heater put on it was warm. Sea crashing outside at high tide was very dramatic. Breakfast... More

With 4th floor rooftop - and restaurant-view directly over the sea and the crashing waves on the coastal cliffs it is truly spectacular. A room or 'mini-suite' with ocean view is a must, even if you do not spend much time in the room - opening the window in the morning to the spectacular view is truly great. Escaping from... More
