If you want dramatic views of the sea directly from your room, Riad Mimouna is amazing (see attached photos from room 309). The breakfast terrace also has great views but is furnished quite simply. Loved Essouira, went by bus from Marrakesh, after train from Fes and train from Tangiers. Sleepy, 1960s seaside/fishing port. Loved our time at Riad Mimouna, which is richly decorated. We had a clean, spacious sea-view room where we could hear the ocean waves crashing on the rocks. Staff were friendly. We'd recommend the delicious French-Moroccan dinner and breakfast. The riad can be hard to find on a dark Essaouira street, but not a major issue. more

Spent 2 nights at this fantastic Riad. Definitely worth paying a bit more for a room with a sea view. Breakfast was a small feast, eaten up on the roof overlooking the beach. At the risk of repeating what others have said, but hopefully adding to the accolades, this place has a superb outlook (and sound effects) from the sea-facing rooms (photo attached). Great place but could be much better with just a little more effort (and management direction?) by offering food other than at breakfast - how about mint tea/coffee and pastries during the day & evening?
