We had a warm welcome from Jean Gabriel. The Riad is like a quit oase in the busy little street of the Medina of Essaouira. The Riad is decorated with a personal touch of Jean Gabriel. Jean Gabriel speaks fluantly English and Friends and is always welcome to help you with whatever you are asking. We had the Pere Jego... More

We had a really enjoyable time. The Riad is definitely worth a visit and a revisit. If you don’t feel like leaving the Raid, you can spend time looking at all the local art work, or find an interesting book in the library. Our room was spacious; the bed was the most comfortable hotel bed we have ever been in.... More

Our 5 night stay in the stunning walled Medina of Essaouira in March 2015 was fantastic and Ryad Watier was the perfect place to stay. Jean Gabriel, Hayat and all the team were the best hosts we could have wished for. Advise on places to eat and visit and things to do was most welcome and just wandering around where... More

Apart from the great location, the spacious room, the roof terrace with a sea-view, the best breakfast we had in Morocco, Jean-Gabriel and his team went out of their way to help us during our stay. By 'out of their way' I don't mean they gave us extra coffee, I mean when, as naive tourists, we we're ripped off by... More

The Riad Watier deserves all the plaudits it receives. We stayed for 10 days in February 2015. The owner, Jean Gabriel and his delightful assistant Hayat are warm and generous hosts with a wealth of local knowledge. The cook prepares the most delicious and authentic fare, so much so that we were reluctant to eat elsewhere. Try the generous and... More

The rooms in this Riad are quite large with very large comfortable beds. The rooms and linen and towels were always clean. Very nice owner and young lady who does most of the organising, both very helpful and obliging. We actually had a log fire in the fireplace in our room in the evening as it gets quite cool in... There are simply not enough superlatives (in any language!) to describe the atmosphere of this riad. The rooms and common areas are well maintained, comfortable, inviting, and peaceful. The food is superb-- be sure to indulge on couscous Friday! To our delight, the staff of Riad Watier is what make this place such a standout. We were immediately treated like... More

Warm welcome received by the owner who was happy to give pointers and recommendations for the local areas of interest. Spacious rooms, beautifully decorated and cleaned daily. Breakfast was lovely and more than adequate! Well placed for walking straight into town or two the beach and easy to find, even for those who struggle with directions (like me)! Would highly... Ignore the remark from a Frenchman who gave it 2 stars, I very much doubt he had ever been near the hotel. The rooms are very nice, clean and spacious. It is a beautiful place to spend a few days with excellent and very friendly staff. Only one warning and that is that you need to be able to walk... More

Thank you so much to the owner Jean and his lovely staff, who went out of their way to make our stay here so memorable. We had a very spacious family room on the first floor, with excellent facilities. There were fresh flowers and a scented oil burner in our room on arrival, which helped make it a bit special!...
