not to recommend this one, just simply not a nice atmosphere, the rooms are too big and very much dated back to the 70s...i am not a hippy and had to stay in a different hotel to make up for the beauty i was longing for. more

Please refer to "The Leisure Nightmare" for our response because both reviews come from the same party, with the same dates.
We stayed last month at the Riad Watier. Our stay at this hotel was so terrible, that we had to move out ,after only staying one night. The breakfast is the poorest breakfast you get in whole Morocco. On our second breakfast the kitchen could n´t serve croissants, marmalade or eggs, as they run out and did n´ bother to... more
I am the owner-manager and I live on the premises all-year round, and I was present for the duration of the reviewer's stay. At no time during their stay did they raise a complaint or a concern. These guests reserved 3 nights and they stayed 3 nights. Where is the nightmare that they had to leave after the 1st night?...
We stayed here for 2 nights and were delighted with our beautiful rooms. We had booked twin rooms and were given suites consisting of a living room with fireplace, 2 double bedrooms & bathroom. There is no view from the rooms but the rooms themselves are so charming that it doesn't matter and the location in the Medina makes it... more
We had an exceptionally fabulous stay at Ryad Watier. Our hosts, Jean Gabriel and Delphine and their 9 year old son Hugo made us feel as if we were staying with old friends - they couldn't have been more welcoming, charming and hospitable. Ryad Watier is a beautifully restored (in the local vernacular) old school building with a ground floor... more
My husband (who is Moroccan) and I spent 4 lovely nights at Watier. The riad is simple but so very cool, Jean Gabriel is so incredibly warm and delightfully enthusiastic about Essaouira it is infectious. The rooms are absolutely lovely. Upon arrival, Samir the manager offered us a choice of any empty room. He recommended one with a fireplace, and... more
We recently spent a week in Morocco. Five night in Marrakech broken up with two night in Essaouira. I enjoyed Marrakech but its was good to have a change of senery. And was pleased to discover Riad Watier. The owner picked us up from the coach station (incidentally, if you book the hotel is best to ask him which coach... more
We booked Riad Watier based on great trip advisor reviews, but we were quite disappointed. The room was large, but it smelled of the toilet and was covered in flies. The shower was also not very good. We paid for a sea-view room, but there were no views to be had. We asked for massages, but the hotel forget to... more
Watier is absolutely beautiful. Our room was huge, the bed was comfortable, the linens were crisp, the breakfasts were great, the location could hardly be better. The whole package is topped off by the charming staff and the lovely, relaxing ambience of the place. Unfortunately somebody at Watier made a mistake with our booking meaning we had to check out... more
We stayed at Riad Watier instead of our regular spot and it was a wonderful stay. The hosts were very welcoming and the room was beautiful. The setup was perfect for two couples and it felt very comfortable and we had abundant space. We were in the city just before the musdic festival and the preparations caused a city-wide blackout.... more
Having found it difficult to select a Riad because of the issue of fake reviews we were delighted with our choice of the Watier. Although we missed meeting Jean Gabriel who was on holiday at the time we were very well looked after by Brahim and Naour and the other staff. Brahim went out of his way to assist us.... more
