We stayed at the Riad Watier on our honeymoon as part of a trip round Morrocco. The owner Jean-Gabrielle and his staff were extremely helpful and welcoming and did everything to ensure we had a lovely stay. The room was huge and the nicest we stayed in during our whole trip. The Riad is lovely and airy with a central... more

Returned this morning from 4 nights at Riad Watier, myself and my two grown up daughters whilst the men in the family were watching the rugby elsewhere! Absolutely fabulous, catered for our every need, unobtrusive good service and sound advice. We shall return with more of our friends and family. Clean, comfortable, central, can hardly praise it enough - go... more

This is a beautiful Riad in a side street in Essaouira's Medina. My girlfriend and my parents stayed there for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. All rooms are beautifully furnished and decorated. One terrace is used for breakfast, the other equipped with deck chairs for sunbathing. All staff are very friendly and helpful and are always around to... more

This is a gorgeous light and airy riad right in the heart of the town. We had a spacious suite of rooms (three girls travelling together). We arrived late and a lovely meal awaited us; the owner made us feel very welcome and gave lots of advice and enthusiasm about essaouira. Well recommended. more

I hate superlatives, but this really was the best place we stayed on our recent trip to Morocco. Everything was perfect, from our large, comfortable, beautifully decorated room, to the attentive and friendly service, to the food at breakfast and dinner. The riad itself is tastefully appointed with art from around the world without being overdone. The tone of the... more

Had a marvelous time during our 3 days stay at Riad Watier in Essaouira. Jean-Gabrielle the riad owner is a delight. He took us personnally to the fish market and helped us pick out a beautiful lunch grilled in the market. He also walked us all the way to our cooking class outside the medina so we didn't get lost.... more

Coming from Marrakesh the journey to Essaouria was much needed. Booked this place online after reading the reviews on here. The diaglogue before arriving was great and the were very welcoming on arrival. We stayed at Riad Tizwa in Marrakesh, which was a great place but completely different to the styling here. Riad Watier is essentially an ex-pat's home opened... more

We (family of four - 2 adults and 2 girls aged 12 and 14) have just stayed at the Riad Watier towards the end of a 10 day first trip to Morocco. We really liked the Watier and found it friendly, welcoming and relaxed and a great base to explore Essaouira. Both rooms were different and despite an initial hiccup... more

We stayed in the Cornut suite, which I would recommend. A very pleasant room. Our host Jean Gabriel has an infectious enthusiasm and was most helpful. Other guest enjoyed an arranged meal in, but we took his other recommendation and went to Elizir which has great (by which I mean great as compared to anywhere in the world) food (with... more

Tucked away down a narrow alley Riad Watier provides a quiet and friendly haven away from the crowds. Jean Gabriel and his staff are very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Breakfast is served on the roof terrace and is usually pancakes or pastries with home-made jams, fresh orange juice, lovely yogourt and coffee or tea. The rooms are large, with high... more
