We spend a week here in March and were very pleased with the whole week. The rooms are excellent and the entire hotel is very well done and colorful, the staff was beyond excellent and added much to our enjoyment of the hotel. The stairs are a bit difficult so olderor travelers with walking issues may not be well served... More

Maison du sud was two buildings. It is now a stunningly arranged riad with what were two central courtyards that are now covered in stained glass covers. The walls in the public areas are adorned with ever changing contemporary art works. Other reviewers have commented on the stairs but my room ( Room 2) was on the first floor which... More

This riad is located only 5 minutes from the coast ,harbor and fortress. It was a perfect place to stay when exploring the area and photographing the seagulls. It is a very old structure located in the medina so ceilings are either very high or low. The steps going to the loft (family room) were a little uneven, but this... More

I stayed here for one night last week and must say it is a beautiful Riad! My room wasn't the quietest but the kind hospitality of the staff made up for it. Special thanks to Brahim for his advice on shopping! I am still admiring the 3 lovely art pieces I bought from the gallery :-)

Beautiful building with rose petals in fountains, like being in Arabian Nights! Very helpful staff, good breakfast and perfect situation in town. Perfect roof terrace for afternoon snoozes. All rooms seem to be different which only adds the charm.

This riad is described as being 18th century. On the ground floor it has plenty of public space, suitable for dining or catching up with wi-fi and decorated with many original works of art, paintings as well as sculptures. Elsewhere, It is small and narrow, negotiable only by narrow staircases winding around the enclosed courtyards below. There were 55 difficult... More

This hotel is on one of the main streets of the medina, where motor traffic is banned so luggage is transported by handcart. It appears to be two riads joined together and is filled with artworks. Very helpful staff and its a few minutes walk of the harbour and beach and right in the old town. Its not licensed to... More

Right in the heart of one of the main streets of the Essaouira souk is Maison du Sud. The staff is friendly, but quiet. We were offered a choice of two rooms with a warning that on the street it might be a bit noisy. We chose the one on the street with the spacious sitting room. The noise was... More

This riad is in a big 18th century building in the heart of the medina, on a lively main street. The location is excellent, since you can step out the door and into the middle of things. The building itself is something of a labyrinth, and the ground floor areas are lavishly decorated with lots of original art work by... More

We were a group of 10 friends from Italy who stayed in this Riad the night of 12 October. It is a very in interesting and intriguing place, lavishly decorated in Moroccan style, with various common areas to sit around and enjoy a mint tea. The rooms are upstairs and there are a lot of rather steep steps, which for... More
