Essaouira is a sweet place with some secluded beaches. We did not explore the town too much due to a lack of time My girlfriend and I stayed a night at Tangaro and the place couldn't be better. Super clean and cozy. Staff was helpful. Tangaro has a personality of its own, one could say a vintage one. The vibe... More

My girlfriend and I and our 3 kids stayed at the auberge for a week. we were planning to come to Marrakech but we loved so much the serenity, warmth and hospitality that we decided to stay the whole week. Candlelight dinners were very charming. The meals were delicious and the service really warm, especially the woman in the kitchen.... More

Well Tangaro is in my longterm memory a place with very good vibrations! So after 40(!) years I had to revisited again. I was very happy to discover Auberge Tangaro still has a lot of the peace and 'charme' it had long time ago. The staff is really very friendly and likes to serve you the best they can. Thanks... We spent 6 nights at this African Lodge-like hotel: if you seek peace and quietness in a wonderful location, this is the place to be. However, make sure NOT to book through Hotels.com. Our online booking was not recognized by Tangaro, but luckily they still had rooms available and we only had to wait for half an hour or so... More

First, in its own right, a lovely hotel, peaceful, outside of town but a short cab ride for the equivalent of 3 euros to the market in Essaouira. aesthetically pleasing rooms opening into a courtyard that looks out to the west toward the ocean from on top of a big hill. Although it couldnt be more different architecturally, the feel... More

Auberge Tangaro is an unusual building for the area, normally hotels are of a riad style in Morocco but this old inn retains a historic charm that we did not find anywhere else during our weeks in the country. Looking out towards the forest and then the huge flat beach leading towards Essaouria, the owner has made great efforts to... More

Auberge Tangaro is truly very special. The website/photos are lovely but still cannot capture the unique beauty of this place. I would not recommend anywhere else in Essaouira. The medina, where a lot of the other Riads/guesthouses are is pretty but touristy and busy. Auberge Tangaro is an oasis of calm and peace, especially after Marrakech. The only sounds you... More

Very charming boutique hotel with a great spirit and service. The hosts were great including the owner which has great sense of hospitality. The hotel has strong heritage and is a nice escape from the city hectiness. It has also original set up which gives it an alternative touch.

We enjoyed our time at Tangaro and Essaouira...The hotel is full of charm and perfectly located outside the medina. You will love the laid-back atmosphere, the light, the colors and the simplicity of this authentic place. The staff is attentive and kind without being all the time on your shoulders. The candle-lit dinner is an outstanding experience in itself. We... More

In my opinion Auberge Tangaro is way too expensive for what they offer – especially if you compare it to other accommodations in Morocco. Rooms are nice but bathrooms could be modernized. It is pretty laid back (nice atmosphere with lots of candles lit in the evening) but if you don’t have a car you’ll be stuck as beaches and... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for visiting Tangaro and for praising both your room and the quality of sleep - also the atmosphere of the candles-light. I regret that you did not let us know during your stay about issues mentioned, as we could easily have resolved some of them: for example that you preferred your fish more well-cooked. Real fires...
