We stayed 2 weeks at the Rhiad al Zahia and had a wonderful stay. The owner Clemente and his team made us feel very welcome. The boys were on holiday to windsurf and the girls to explore the local area and culture. The Rhiad is perfectly placed in the Medina, close to the restaurants, banks, near to the Museum, and... more

Lovely riad, comfortable rooms (with bathrooms larger than average for a riad), great staff (so helpful!), amazing breakfast (especially if you take it on the roof terrace), excellent location within the medina and easy to get to, beautifully and tastefully decorated throughout - what more can you say? Only thing that could be improved: the bathroom could do with some... more

I have visited Essaouira 3 or 4 times and each time I go back....I book into Riad Al Zahia. The staff are young and warm and friendly. The owner is a young chilled out Spanish guy called Clemente and his informal, warm nature is infectious, so the whole place feels relaxed and easy going. He speaks English, French and Spanish... more

My husband and I recently stayed at this riad in Essaouria. The location is wonderful if you want to be in the media and near the souks. It is walking distance to the beach and all other sites in the city. I agree that the first time somebody will need to show you how to get there. The rooms are... more

The Riad is very nice (clean, cool interiors and furniture) and the location is easy to find in the medina (anyway the first time must be showed by someone). All the place of interest are located in the nearby. Very good breakfast, with hand-made orange jam so tasty I never had! The only "strange" thing is the girl from the... more

We thought the staff terrific but the nature of a riad without modern ventilation or windows to the street is of course, not exactly airy. Not a bad deal but classic riad architecture needs further development to be comfortable to me. more

What a fabulous place to stay! From the wonderful staff and the ever helpful host Clemente, this place made our stay in Essaouira. Round the corner from beautiful restaurants and a stones throw away from the souks, this place could not be in a better position. The interior of the riad is beautiful, painted in the traditional white and blue... more

We just came back fro a short holiday in Morocco. Our stay in essaouira was great and the Riad Al Zahia amazing. We didn´t spect such a calm place in the middle of the medina, room was very spacefull and lightfull, richly decorated in a moroquian style with all the facilities. Down stairs there are some beautiful rooms to listen... more

Riad Al Zahia turned out to be a great choice. The riad is in a perfect location--on a quiet street but only a couple of minutes walk from the plaza, the souk, and one of the forts right on the ocean. It's colorful, handsomely decorated and very clean, with several comfortable little places to hang out downstairs. Breakfast on the... more

The ownership of Riad Al Zahia changed hands early this year. Our host, Clemente Navarro, from Valencia, is a hands-on owner/manager. The rooms and public spaces are tastefully decorated, the service cheerful and roof top terrace affords a lovely view of the Atlantic. This is a first class establishment. Look no further should you decide to spend some time in... more
