Hi, Agree with some of the previous points made. Dar Ness is a stunning riad in a superb location, but doens't have the same 'home away from home' feeling that I got from our riad in Marakesh. Did have more of a hotel feeling to it. Our room was on the 2nd floor and was large and airy - though... more

My partner and I have just returned from a four night stay at Dar Ness in Essaouria. We really enjoyed our stay and had a great room within the Riad on the first floor. The staff are very friendly and helped us out with basic queries and travel information. Breakfast was served on the roof terrace which is sheltered from... more

I'd echo leighbaz's review almost entirely for Dar Ness. It is a nice riad in the middle of Essaoiura - not far from the port and the beach, so you can get both these plus the medina no problem. The rooms and the riad are nicely furnished, but there is no sea view and the terrace could do with a... more

My partner and I were recommended this riad from the previous stay in Marrakech and it turned out to be very nice indeed. Lots of rooms, each individually furnished and decorated and very beautifully done, too! Breakfast was served on the roof terrace with the seagulls keeping us company. No view over the ocean from there, but the place is... more

The Dar Ness was a delightful place to stay in Essaouira! I had stayed in several other places, prior to finding the Dar Ness. (I found it through recommendations in Lonely Planet and a couple of other guide books. Then I personally toured it while staying at another hotel in Essaouira, which I didn't like.) Other than a clean, bright,... more

I agree with the reviewer from Madrid, we travelled in Morocco for 2 weeks in December and our most memorable stays in hotels and riads were when the owners really made you feel at home and welcome. That was simply what Morocco was about for us. So while Dar Ness was nice, clean and the location was good. The 85... more

Spent a week at Dar Ness and cannot recommend it highly enough. It is just steps from the main square in Essaouria with its restaurants and shopping, rooms were very clean and comfortable, breakfast delicious (especially the home made yogurt) and the staff very obliging and helpful. We got in the habit of gathering in the living room for a... more

What a wonderful pleasant surprise Dar Ness proved to be. Charming , quaint and peaceful are a few words that come to mind. The staff was very kind and helpful and the breakfasts were so delicious. The best I’ve had in any riad so far. It's conveniently located only a few short walks away from all of Essouira’s popular spots... more

The Riad itself was nice as you can see from the photo of our bedroom. However it seemed a little on the expensive side to me (85 euros for double room) and I have to say that after our tremendously personalised experiences everywhere else in Morocco, the fact that the Riad was stylishly furnished, well located etc could not compensate... more

Enjoyed two nights staying at this lovely Dar in the heart of Essouira. James the host, and his staff are very hospitable and helpful and arranged a good driver to take us back to Marrakesh. We had been spoilt at our riad in Marrakesh with respect to our breakfasts so were slightly disappointed with that provided at Dar Ness but... more
