Dar Liouba is conveniently located near the center of the Medina. It is a wonderful cozy place to escape to pace of the medina. The owners work incredibly hard to ensure your comfort and enjoyment. The rooms are beautifully appointed. The lobby is cozy. And, the food is amazing thanks to Chef Youssef and the kitchen staff.

Upon arrival, we were presented with maps and brochures with information about the city, and suggestions as to what to do and what to see, including how to get to the various places. The staff was very helpful, chatty and eager to make our stay there as good as possible. This made me feel very at home in the riad.... More

We stayed on top floor in a 3 people room. Peaceful and clean, very cosy and close to the terrace for having breakfast in the morning. The breakfast was also really good, bread, jam, good coffee. About the riad, has a lot of light inside and the location is totally convenient, its only a few steps away from the harbour,... More

We really enjoyed our stay at dar Liouba, Patricia was a kind and professional hostess. The breakfast was very nice and our room (lavande) was lovely with dual aspect windows. You felt like you were staying more in a private home and were well looked after with a night porter and funny, engaging cook and good kitchen team. I would... More

A fantastic Dar, beautifully kept & decorated with wonderfully friendly staff. We stayed in Safran room on top floor with easy access to terrace with great views. The cleanliness in Dar Liouba is second to none, room thoroughly cleaned every day. Comfy bed & tea/coffee facility in the room. Location is spot-on, easy stroll to the beach & shopping! The most relaxing stay I had during 4 weeks of travel in Morocco during April 2014 was at Dar Liouba in Essaouira. A special thanks to host Patricia who looks after all her guests so well - including with delicious breakfasts! The rooms are fresh, bright, and extremely comfortable. Very central in the medina, and yet set back from the... More

We stayed at Dar Liouba for 6 nights in early May 2014, arriving by bus from Marrakesh. We were greeted by the riad supervisor, she offered drinks and snacks and gave us a map of the medina describing the different sections of the old town and various attractions. The sitting/breakfast area on the ground floor is open and spacious with... More

We had a delightful night's stay at Dar Liouba in Essaouira! We loved the decor of this large and light-filled Dar. We stayed in the Lavender room on the third level, which was was very comfortable and inviting- great bed, spacious room and we loved having the bathtub right in the room. The wifi is a bit in-and-out, but that's... More

We arrived by bus from Marrakech and were graciously served mint tea and cakes. The hotel is beautiful, especially the roof lounge where we ate the delicious breakfast every day we were there. The room was very comfortable and very quiet. This Riad is highly recommended.

Dar Liouba is much more than a charming guesthouse, it is a place where you will feel at home. A house where conviviality, enchantment and an atmosphere of relaxation reign. The general atmosphere is laid back and cheerful, with a bright architecture.A pergola rises three floors from the interior courtyard of this former Imam’s house, culminating in an octagonal skylight. This intriguing structure provides each bedroom with a charming cedarwood balcony, hand carved by local craftsmen, overflowing with flowers, from which you look down into a small internal garden that is a specific feature of these town houses. ... more   less
