This is a lovely traditional Riad in the centre of town. It is also near the port. Our room had a sea view and it was lovely. The decor was traditional and understated. Breakfast is served on the roof terrace - it wasn't windy while we were there which might be annoying I suppose - but you do have to watch... More

Situated just inside the city wall. Used to be a couple of properties until converted into a hotel. Rooms are situated on 4 levels which entails a little interesting wandering to find your particular room. You can take your evening meal in house which is quite nice as you will be eating in your very own dining area. If the... More

We were at first seduced by the somptuous terrace view for a cup of tea and liked the place so much that we came back for a night. We had a lovely room, in a secluded part of the riad, with a small lounge area. Had a great nap by the fire place ! And a great breakfast on the... More

Given that elsewhere in Morocco we stayed in hotels costing twice as much this review may be affected by some disappointment, despite the cheaper cost. We asked for sea view and had from room at top. The room smelt musty and meant the windows had to be open even though it was cold. Bed was fine but lounge and chair... More

After over three weeks in Morocco and staying at 10 places this is my favorite. Everything is clean and nice. The staff was friendly and spoke good English. The in-house food is good but expensive. The rooms are clean and the service prompt and tidy. They even supplied hot water bottles on the cool evenings. We had to depart early... More

18 years after our first visit to Essaouira and our then stay in Villa Maroc we decided, despite the range of new hotels and riads, to stay for old times sake in Villa Maroc again. It is still a very classy and beautiful hotel. We slept in one of the suites (nr. 30). A beautiful 'appartment' with a separate bedroom,... More

Just spent a dreamlike four days at the Villa Maroc - tucked away just inside the medina down a narrow alley, the exterior conceals a real gem. Created out of two (or more?) old riads, it's visually stunning (whitewashed walls, gently coloured old textiles, candlelight, bowls of roses) and full of peaceful sunny corners to curl up with a book... We found this hotel while wNdering around the backstreets and booked a room for the next few nights. Not cheap but well worth it. We gt back at nigt and tiny candles marked the way up to our room. We loved breKfast on the roof with the swooping seagulls.

We booked one of their special breaks. This included four nights; two evening meals; a cookery lesson and a trip to the spice market with the chef; a trip to a Berber market and lunch and an afternoon by the pool at their sister hotel, in the country. The trips were fascinating. The hotel is quirky, but beautiful. Dinner (which... More

Absolutely nice Riad, with all the amenities (except, as in all of them, a lift).. Here we got a suite with a living room, very nicely decorated. A beautiful terrace with magnificent view over the sea. Located just within the wall of the Medina. Bar service etc, etc, everything what good hotel should provide, but it came with a price....
