This is such a perfect location in the medina--a block away from the ramparts, the square, the main shopping street, and close to the beach! Some great restaurants around, some good shops, and some GREAT street dogs and cats! (See pics ;) The room we were in was comfortable—the bed and pillow were fine, the wifi was good, the shower... Stayed here 4 nights end of June me and 2 friends. First impression wasn't that impressed as stayed in wicked riad in Marrakech. Rooms were clean and tidy bed was rock hard and had a decent roof terrace. Its location is perfect though. Breakfast was crap so only had it once. Best thing about the place was the staff. Soukaina,... More

So I stayed here 3 years ago & found its beautiful rustic-ness delightful the whole reason for me coming back to morocco was all to do with dar mounia! I have been here close to two weeks this time & it's location is incredible situated in the centre of the medina & a stones throw from the beach and with... More

I don't know about other riads in Essaouira but this one we have chosen was absolutely wonderful. It has a great position in relation with the parking, restaurants and everything you want to see in Essaouira, the staff and service was without a fault, clean room, well prepared for our arrival.

After being brought here by a guide straight off the bus, we were sceptical. But it turned out to be a lovely hotel in the heart of the medina, with a great cafe and restaurant below. Our room, although not the best location (adjoining the lounge area and 1 floor above the bustle of the street below) was nicely decorated... More

Situated in the medina, Dar Mounia was one of the highlights of our holiday. I can't comment on the accommodation but the food is amazing! The pastilla I had for lunch was easily one of the best meals I've ever eaten. My husband rated the coffee highly also and he's particular about his coffee!

Horrible.Dirty, showers not working......... I have arrived yesterday and spoted this hotel in the very centre of the Meddina. The hotel wasn't full but the receptionist shoed me the room on the very top. As I was tired and hungry I just left my luggedge and went out for dinned. The big disapointment was when I've returned in the evening. First... More

One of the best meals that we had in Morocco - simple, fresh and delicious. Excellent local fish, cooked to perfection with plenty of vegetables all beautifully presented. A simple fruit-based dessert followed which complemented the main course. Well worth a visit if you are in town. Highly recommended.

We didn't stay overnight but did eat here a couple of times. Our first snack lunch was so good (veggie tagine & boulettes de poisson((fish ball tagine)) that we came back again after a shocking meal elsewhere! Fresh, really well cooked even if that atmosphere is pretty still.....
