We were very nicely surprised by this Riad (after a disappointment in Marrakech). The owner/manager Sylvie (?) was super nice and welcoming, and so were all the staff. Sylvie gave great restaurant recommendations, which were all spot on. Breakfast was delicious and service generally very good. The rooms were simple, clean, and comfortable. Sleep quality was a bit of an... More

This is an extremely charming and romantic riad with beautifully done decor throughout--from the lobby, to the rooms, to the terrace. Our room was generous and comfortable and the bathroom was perfectly done down to the smallest details-- such as a copper sink and Moroccan tile shower. The staff are extremely warm and generous and the breakfasts and dinners are... More

We have found the Riad to have some very strong points. The table d'hotes is very good. The girls in the kitchen are doing a faboulous job and they really fill the Riad with the best of smells. This might be one of the best eating places in town, no doubt. The owners can be asked any question and also... More

The staff are so friendly and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. The Riad itself is gorgeous and traditional, our room was light and airy and the terrace is a gorgeous place to sit and read. An amazing must-see Riad!

We stayed in Riad Malaika for 2 nights and overall my impression was that it was just OK. I probably would not recommend this place, nor would I stay there again with the abundance of other accommodations available in Essaouira. We got off on a bit of a bad foot with this place. We arrived by CTM bus and took... More

My boyfriend and I booked this Riad having read so many good Trip Advisor reviews. On booking, the riad seemed well located and good value for money. On check-in, however, we were instantly disappointed. Yes, Riad Malaika offers you a glass of mint tea on arrival, something all Riad's seem to offer, and it is a nice touch, but when... More

It was a really pleasant time that we spent on Riad Malaika in Essaouira! The welcoming mint tea, the splendid dinner we had there, one of the best meals we had during our stay in Morocco, and all the delightful staff.. We surely recommend it and are hoping to have a chance to come back!

We chose this Riad partly because of the food reviews. The evening meal was by far the best we had in 3 weeks in Morocco - exquisite pigeon pastilla and desserts topped with spun sugar that looked like they could win a dessert plating competition. We appreciated being collected from the Supratour bus and were given a 5am breakfast to... More

Riad Malaika is hidden from the main market streets in Essaouira. Booked this place in particular because of the price comparison vs. some of the larger, less-personal hotels closer to the beach and because of how the hotel looked on the website. We felt that the photographs of definitely painted it in a favourable light, because when we arrived we... More

Beautiful riad well hidden in a quiet alley, but definitely centrally located. It's a perfect place for having a romantic and cozy dinner. The food and the service were exceptional and beautifully presented. Book in advance as the ingredients are fresh from the market.
