Just got back from Morocco after spending 4 nights at the Riad Malaika. Although we had not told them it was our anniversary. They noticed the cards we had brought with us and baked a beautiful impromptu iced sponge cake. As it was quiet they came shopping with us for spices and oils. The Riad has a very relaxed feel,... Just returned from a 4 night stay at Riad Malaika and loved every moment it offered up: from the beautiful rooms, the atmospheric common area, the great hosts and the team of local wonderful women in the kitchen cooking up food with such knowledge and tradition that it topped every other meal we tried in Essaouira. Thank you Riad Malaika... More

This was the best meal we experienced in Morocco after travelling 3 weeks around the country. The spotless kitchen opens on the foyer and we were invited to watch and learn from the chef. The hotel accepts non-resident bookings and the menu is on their web site. Alcohol is not available, but for those who wish to imbide, I suggest... More

Stayed here for 4 nights in November. Gave the riad a call when we arrived at gate of the medina and someone came to pick us up and help us find the riad for the first time, which was extremely helpful! All the staff and management were great the building looks so traditional and elegant. Our room was very small... More

The Riad is beautiful, and the owners and the staff are extremely friendly. The rooms are very comfortable and decorated with taste. Mental note: there are lots of stairs, in case you have any problems with that, make sure to ask for rooms on the first floor. We asked to dine at the hotel and were pleasantly surprised. The meal... We LOVED this riad. In every possible way. The lobby and lounging areas are impressive and impeccably decorated. Our room was equally beautiful, especially all the accents, the details in the bathroom, and the beautiful natural light coming in through our French windows.

Riad Malaika is an oasis from the unassuming Essiouria side streets that immediately feels like home. The staff are brilliant offering advice on what to see and where to eat. We enjoyed our 3 night stay here and would happily recommend it to anyone.

I stayed at Riad Malaika for a week over Christmas, having booked one of the slightly larger superior rooms. Riads look nothing from the outside but my first impressions on stepping over the threshold were very favourable. The ground floor courtyard with fountain is beautifully restored and furnished with local antiques, as are the rooms. Delicious breakfasts are served in... More

Very good communication upon booking and prior to arrival. They arranged collection from Marrakech and were most welcoming upon arrival. Great rooms, that were spotlessly maintained. We ate a wonderful meal here on our first night, everything was as good as previous reviewers have testified, inc a very agreeable local white & red wines. Essaouira is a lovely place, with... More

Riad Malaika was a perfect place to stay in Essaouira. It is in a great location - it is centrally located, but also offers the peace and quiet one wants in a beach town. The staff could not be more helpful and the food was delicioous. Highly recommended!
