This was a comfortable, extremely convenient riad with good views of sea and beach from the roof top terrace. It is a charming and tastefully decorated traditional riad with comfortable rooms and beds. Other reviewers have suggested the beds are hard - this might be so but we found them comfortable enough - although we were less keen on the... More

I recently stayed for 3 nights at Villa De L'O in early November 2014. The hotel is a traditional riad. Initially very charming and with birds flying around the courtyard. We were offered mint tea on arrival. The staff were all polite, charming and helpful. Despite this there were a few disappointments. The room we booked, L'orizon was described as... More

We spent four nights at Villa de L'O as part of a two week trip to Morocco. Coming straight from Marrakech, Essaouria was a very welcome contrast to the busy streets and Villa de L'O was a great base from which to explore the town and the beach. We stayed in one of the sea view rooms which was definitely... More

Delightful atmosphere with wood everywhere and touches of past glory. Room was a little dark but charming as if in a guest room in a home with all sorts of nick knacks. Bathroom again in the same theme but not as keen on this for a bathroom. Mattress very hard. Air conditioning was essential as very little through breeze. Breakfast... More

Great location in Essouria just inside the Medina but also within walking distance of the beach. That's where the great stuff ends. The Riad itself was clearly very special in its day but is looking tired. Our room was comfortable but the Riad would benefit from some tlc particularly in the public areas. Reception staff manage to accomplish the basics... More

Our 'suite' was actually a normal room & bathroom with fascinating timber finish and nice old furniture. However the bed was so hard we took to sleeping on top of the duvet for the little extra cushioning. The roof terrace was a great location for breakfast with stunning views down the 4 kms of sandy beach and Atlantic surf -... More

This was without a doubt the absolute most romantic hotel we stayed at in 8 different cities in Spain, Portugal, and Morocco on our Honeymoon. We were given the biggest suite and it was absolutely stunning! They had wine and fruit ready in our room and even laid out a TON of rose petals all over the room when we... More

This riad is close to the best bits of Essaouira and has great views along the beach from the roof terrace. It is a little impersonal, but the rooms are good and the breakfasts excellent. Every room is different and the building is beautiful.

It's a great place to stay. The rooms were big and nice and so was the complete staff. For breakfast it was fantastic to sit on the roof with great sight over Essaouira. The beach is perfect for kit surfing, but because of the wind not to good for kids.
