Nicole looked after us beautifully in her well run Riad for our five night stay. Our room (chambre blanche) was bright and breezy and to be recommended. The Riad reflected the laid back atmosphere of Essaouira and is a great place to base yourself for a few nights. I'd also thoroughly recommend Valerie the in house Raiki practitioner.

What a great place to be in the Medina. It is a very detail-oriented hotel that focuses on looking like home while still being exotic. It is greatly located and they also have a jacuzzi, which makes anything much better. I just cannot recommend this riad enough.

What a treasure tucked away in the heart of the Medina! A beautiful , bright and spotlessly clean Riad run by a very friendly hostess, Nicole. An nourishing breakfast was served by very friendly and amenable staff on the rooftop. The Riad had so much character and the hot tub was an added bonus. Nicole gave us great tips on... More

What an incredible 5 nights!! My fiancé and I travelled to Riad Baladin on recommendation and we were in no way disappointed. From the moment we arrived Nicole was so very welcoming. She immediately took us to a snug room offered us water and discussed the highlights of Essaouira. Following this we were taken to our room which blew us... More

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for 2 nights. It is a really beautiful Riad, with lovely rooms and the owner Nicole was really helpful giving us a guide of Essaouira with a detailed map and tips on where was good to eat and what was good to do. Unfortunately we felt a bit let down on our stay at... More

Dear guests of Riad Baladin We're really sorry that this lovely couple has been here in a moment when we did some work after the winter period: repaint the balustrade of the terrace and the tables for breakfast which we do every year after the raining season and on days when it's not windy! (mostly beginning of march) Also, we... More

This is a charming riad well sited in a quiet corner of the walled town. There are good views from the roof terrace (where breakfast is served) and it is a short walk to the splendid sea wall and fortifications. We were two couples including one person needing help with walking. Both Nicole, the manager, and Claudia, the Saturday manager,... More

This riad is in a perfect location for exploring the Medina and beyond, always fortified by an excellent breakfast on the roof-top terrace. Nicole's care and attention made us feel we were part of her own family. Claudia, too, helped to make our visit special, greeting us on arrival and walking with us to the gate when it was time... We stayed here for 3 nights in February. Nicole was lovely and was very happy to help with anything that she could and her staff built us a lovely fire in our room twice. The Riad is full of character, located in the prettiest/arty part of the Medina, very close to the ocean so had the wonderful sound of the... More

Dear guests of Riad Baladin I feel as the manager that I have to explain quickly some things after reading this very nice review but it leaves unfortunately some doubts: The small hotel Riad Baladin is an absolute safe place to stay - we leave the doors open after cleaning to air which is not a problem at all (it's... We did a lot of research before booking our accommodation and Riad Baladin stood out for its good reviews and it certainly lived up to its reputation. The riad is an oasis of calm on the edge of the medina. The decor is very tasteful and it very much feels like you are staying by the sea. The roof terrace... More

If you are planning to head to Essaouira then Riad Baladin is the place to stay. Really friendly knowledgeable staff, great selection of rooms (I got to have my pick as was there in low season!) tasty breakfast in the terrace, and a fire ready and waiting for me in my room when I got back from a meal out.
